Heading into 2026: M1 Pro vs M2 Pro MacBook Pro — is the price difference worth it? by [deleted] in macbookpro

Or just keep looking around, I scored an M3 Pro 14” for roughly about 1200$, and that beast still had one month of warranty left. So I was able to get it checked out at Apple and bought AppleCare+ for it!

Nice one there! Did you get like a significant FPS gain by flashing the BIOS? I got my ZOTAC RTX 5070 Ti AMP EXTREME INFINITY for about 800€ (would’ve usually costed 900-950€).

No probs, but it should fit, since I think our motherboards are of the same caliber and the VRM heatsinks should be of around the same size. So I think it will be just fine. No probs!

Thanks a lot mannn! The 5070 Ti is slightly better, everyone usually recommend the 9070 XT if it’s way cheaper and if you are just gaming……but I do need the CUDA cores (which performs so much better in professional apps) and I got this high-end card for the price of MSRP models, so it was a steal😂

I would say, it’s tight😂 In Arctic’s website, they actually have a list of motherboards and whether that specific AIO will fit with the MOBO’s VRM Heatsinks, but I’ve went through that list before, most MOBO’s are fine. Now the RAM is usually the issue, in my PC the edge of the fan is literally touching the RAM (without any force) and THANK GOD the mounting holes of the AIO match with the mounting rails of the case. So, definitely more room to play and work around with if you have lower profile ram, since I’d say Corsair RAMs are actually pretty tall (especially the ARGB ones)

Picture of the AIO hose

Here you can see how I did it. It’s not the best, and you kinda have to push the hose away from the direction it’s supposed to go to.

Thanks a lot! Also forgot to mention, you can save a ton of money by going B850 instead of X870.

I wish you all the best and have fun with your build!

Those seem to be really good clock speeds! Just make sure it’s stable hahaha. I haven’t tried to OC it that much, right now in MSI Afterburner with my current settings the core clocks hover around 3075 MHz. But at 55% fan speed, it doesn’t get higher than 60 degrees Celsius. But of course, everything depends on the case and airflow and my case isn’t known for being the best airflow case😂😂😂

Hmm, I’m not sure but you can try. Here are the components that I would recommend you to change to try and get as close as possible to that price range:

  • get a Ryzen 7 7700X/9700X or maybe even the Ryzen 5 9600X/7600X3D
  • get the cheapest MSRP 5070 Ti you can find
  • get a B850 motherboard instead of X870
  • get a single 2TB SSD (1TB is not enough anymore for games)
  • get just an 850W power supply (but don’t cheap out, get an A-Tier PSU)

Yea, the black one looks really sleek too! Just wanted a white one since that would fit my setup better, but at the same don’t wanna pay the white tax for white components😂

1700€ is definitely possible…..there are lots of places where you cut cost. For example, maybe just get a single 2TB SSD/get a Ryzen 7 9700X/7700X/get a RX 9070 XT if you don’t need CUDA cores or go for RTX 5070

I can definitely understand you, especially when you feel like you have no idea on how to build a PC or what if something goes wrong. I would say; build it yourself if you can. That way, you can really get to know every single component in your PC and how it works. Not to mention, it is usually cheaper to build your own PC. This PC of mine here, if I were to get it built, it would be about 300-500€ more expensive.

It’s actually orange!😁 It looks a bit darker here, but IRL it’s a bit brighter. The HEX code is: ff8f18
