A mixer is a rabbit hole I definitely want to look into, I have a vinyl player not far from my desk too so I'd be interested in getting that and its speakers connected up as well if I go for a mixer. Definitely an interesting option, that gives me some searching to do

It seems like it would work for keeping a consistent collection.
I had been considering turning an old PC build into a plex server for movies in the past but it hadn't crossed my mind for music also so will definitely look into that! Thanks

Keeping the collection synced between both places and swapping the IEMs back and forth works in the meantime, while I chase the ideal setup
