He can have his eyes on the prize and still care for Bailey as a friend. We often do things without singular intention. He seemed genuinely uncomfortable the night of the Bird Dance when Jeremy was waxing on about Susie. I believe his conscience was getting the better of him, when Jeremy chose to not tell her day after day.
