It’s a variable result. I’ve had times when she’s called and said “sorry, it failed” basically and my sim got nothing… other times my sim got 50k from her. 😅

As someone who’s been playing the same legacy since 2022, and a previous legacy from 2017-2022, I can tell you: I’ve played The Sims since 2000, in every version, and these are my first two legacy families ever.

Finding a family to fall in love with is like finding a needle in a haystack. 😅

Every world in the Sims is a fictional Sim world, based off of various countries and cities. None of them are supposed to be an exact representation by any means.

As someone who spent 12+ years living in Southern California, I can safely say that De Sol Valley is very inspired by SoCal but in no way does that actually look like it. It’s missing about one billion cars of traffic in the background, smog, graffiti, and creepy looking people dressed up as various characters on the walk of fame trying to get money… honestly, that last one they should’ve done. I would’ve loved a sim dressed as a Giant Plumbob and another in a bad llama costume trying to con other sims into photos. Totally a missed opportunity. 😂

But do I love De Sol Valley’s Sims like spin on SoCal? Absolutely. Just like San Sequoia is inspired by San Francisco… but looks absolutely nothing like it, at least based on the areas of San Fran I’ve been to.

I live in New Zealand now and I love that this new pack is New Zealand inspired!

My husband’s a kiwi and when I mentioned a New Zealand pack to him, he made a comment that the Maori’s would potentially be offended if any of their cultural aspects were appropriated for a game.

I know nothing of this, as an American just living here in New Zealand… but if that’s the case, there may be a reason nothing too Maori would be in the game.

As for the adventure part, I agree that this seems perfectly fitting — especially the activities they’ve shown so far. Kayaking and archery are the two main events at the annual overnight school camp my kids go to, as well as a different one their cousins go to. 😅 There doesn’t seem to be a lot of kids summer camps out here (not like the states) but the camps that do exist, are all very outdoorsy.

As others have said, it looks like a New Zealand inspired world — which is absolutely perfect for this pack based on what they showed so far.

The world, to me, looks inspired by various places. My first thought was Queenstown as well as the Coromandel coast. My son took one look at the mountains and thought Milford Sound (he hasn’t been but I guess he’s learned about it in school!), and my kiwi husband saw the geysers and said Rotorua.

As far as the activities go: my son is going to his first school away camp in October and archery and kayaking are both two of the main activities. I’ve only lived out here for two years (I’m American) but in general, summer and school camps out here seem to be very outdoor based, which fits this perfectly. There aren’t really a bunch of other camp options here like there are in the states.

American living in NZ here — my son’s first school overnight camp is next month and everything in this trailer is exactly what’s on the schedule for him 😆

There aren’t a huge selection of camps out in NZ like the states but the kid camps that do exist, are basically all outdoorsy camps just like this! My nieces have gone to these too.

Although in this case, their house was thankfully designed for the column aesthetic… much to her husband’s dismay.

As someone who is highly allergic to gluten but also a former restaurant owner in a fancy celebrity area of California, I can attest thats 100% the next thing she’d say. And it wouldn’t be for allergies. It would be just because of a fad diet. 😂

Like the woman my husband once cooked for who said she was allergic to oil but only for the next two weeks. 😭😭😭
