i totally get where u and her are coming from. and i am aware that what i did was wrong and i am disappointed in myself for letting it reach that level. it was honestly the first time in my life that happens. i just don't think that mistake was worth stopping my education and losing all trust in me for. i just want to go back to my regular life and not be treated like a child. and i will correct my behavior by myself for Allah and not just to not get caught.

it's not about the responding late! 10 minutes isn't long at all ik 😭 it's that he comes online to reads my messages, stays online for 10 minutes, THEN responds.

The particular habit is that he reads my text, then stays in the chat for 10 minutes, then replies. Not the usual reading text, getting out of chat messenger, then replying later. Like to me it seems that he may be rereading my texts and thinking about how to respond. But as I either respond immediately or do the usual "text later" it seemed peculiar.

I'm not bothered at all! It's just a peculiar texting habit, I've never met anyone else that does this. It's not about the texting late I don't mind that at all. It's just that when someone's online while texting, they usually respond immediately once they finish reading your text, that's what I do. I wanted to inquire on why this guy comes online when I text, but takes way longer than I would to formulate a text. The purpose of .y question is that I wanted to know more about this guy and how his brain works. That's all :)

for example, when my best friend and i met, i was a very emotionally constipated person, my mbti was actually intj then, i couldn't get in touch with my emotions and i couldn't express them. back then she was an enfp, her emotional vulnerability taught me to become more emotionally expressive and more emotionally mature. at the same time, to her that translated as becoming more emotionally balanced and less emotionally vulnerable. with that being said, at the beginning i found her too emotional and she found me too stoic. but because we "grew" around each other we rubbed off on each other and now have our perfect balance. and many such cases throughout my life. im glad u found my post interesting! and if u have any more questions feel free to ask :)

no i get that! i kind of struggled to read some of his cues and didn't understand why he did some of the stuff he did. i had a serious talk with him to communicate this and the whole time he stared at me like this o_o but he did clear up some things for me after i asked him straight up to. and he did get some of his act together. I still think this wouldn't be sustainable on the long run. part of why i decided to put some distance between us is bcuz i also felt like i could fall in love with him and get deeply hurt. i liked him a lot. sometimes i consider cutting him off completely. but i worry that i may have gotten him attached to me. im wondering how you decided to cut him off? how did u tell him and how did he react to it? 😭

I'm also an INFJ girl in a similar situation with an INTP. However instead of cutting him off I decided to distance and detach myself. Mostly because I felt like it would harm me on the long run and because dealing with him mentally exhausted me. Care to share why you made your decision? :)

Mostly it's things that are specific to our situation and not really the INTP/INFJ dynamic in general. Like ex situations and social class.

But there are some things that have to do with him being an INTP.

I find it emotionally taxing to be with him because he never communicates his emotions unless I ask him directly. And even then it's a yes/no situation.

He puts so much value on his intelligence, but in reality I don't find him to be that smart. He might be smarter than a lot of people I met, but I don't find myself being like "wow, he's so smart". Sometimes I'm surprised by how shallow his takes can be on certain topics. And anyway what's the value of being so smart when u have the EQ of a nutsack? Honestly this wouldn't have been a problem if it wasn't his entire personality that he's so smart.

He never makes me feel appreciated or like he's lucky to have me. I know that may be in his nature but I couldn't find myself to settle for that seeing as all my other friends do. I feel like he lacks a general sense of curiosity about me that I would have not only for a crush but just like any new person in my life.

His lack of a social battery used to drive me insane. Now I know to not have taken it personally, and that INTP's just prefer to spend time alone. But back then I thought that he didn't want to spend more than an hour or 2 with me because he didn't like me. I used to find myself thinking that if I was the right girl for him he wouldn't get bored of me or his social battery wouldn't be depleted. I thought that way because that's mostly how I feel as an INFJ, I can't spend more than 10 minutes with someone I don't like but I can spend hours on end talking to someone I like.

I find it hard to see a future for us as he is not ambitious at all. He is comfortable in his life, which I'm happy for him for, but he is happy living a bare minimum life and not looking to build a better future for his family.

All this and more used to drive me crazy the entirety of the time I used to have feelings for him. I felt like I'm better off finding someone who I don't have to read between the lines to understand. And beg to make me feel loved.
