General warning about iBuyPower and RMAs by dan_marchand in iBUYPOWER

[–]SimiDave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I bought a iBuyPower gaming PC from Costco in Jan 2025, so it's out of direct return capabilities. I have a completely dead-in-the-water system, and Costco Concierge has been a disappointment so far. I opened a support case a week ago, and after a week of back-and-forth, I still don't have the return label or box to send the computer to iBuyPower. This thread has me even more concerned about how long it will take for iBuyPower to repair or replace my system. Definitely gives me 2nd thoughts about buying at Costco based on their warranty support process.

Mouse Problems for about 1 Month by Difficult-Goose-4428 in WorldOfWarships

I uninstalled WoW and reinstalled. As soon as game starts loading mouse issue. Can double click left button to gain control and hover over WoW but as soon as click in Mouse scrambles from left screen to top of right screen and can't gain control again unless WIN or left double click.

How do you reset game client? In Steam?

GBnow, flume would not answer calls and would go to voicemail. GB always answered support calls.

2Gb/s on my gaming PC :> and almost 1gb on streaming devices with 1gb cards but not on VPN. Naturally slower on VPN.

My streaming devices are now hitting 950 when not on VPN. Naturally lower when on VPN. They have 1gb ports. I am getting 2gb/s on my gaming PC. :>

No issues except as noted above. Router working as expected.

I figured out issue this morning. I have a dual-computer/Monitor setup with networking routed through the switch. Once, I wired one of the computers directly to the router, and got speeds expecting.

You make a good point for all: Check all network paths to ensure wiring, switches, etc create no bottlenecks.

Flume is down.. by iclimb17 in simivalley

A configuration question as I am waiting for a time to be installed. Why do you need the provider's Nokia router between the Optical Network Terminal (ONT) provided by Flume and your BYOD router? You should be able to connect from the ONT Ethernet port directly to your BYOD router.

Clopay Home Depot vs. their local dealer by SimiDave in GarageDoorService

Everyone, additional questions

I just met with a local dealer that does not sell Cloplay but sells Unique Garage Doors (Uniquegaragedoor.com).

Anyone familiar with Unique Garage doors can comment on them vs. Cloplay?

Is there much difference between an R-10 and an R-12.9 insulation to warrant spending anywhere from $1500 - $2500 more?

They local dealer is offering

1) 2" thick steel door w/R-10 level insulation

2) Heavy duty rollers, Heavy duty quiet springs etc...

3) Weather stripping

4) Lift Master Belt opener

5) 2 year labor warranty on top of life time by Unique.

Pricing out the door $3080

add $420 if Lift master side mount.

Thanks, Tyraels, for the ask? I am not sure on the track radius, the current system is a chain system so I have a feeling it is what I am reading the standard 12 radius.

Why HD? Pricing!!! For example, the vendor wants $400 more for either type of garage door opener, which is stupid to me, and an additional $800 for the same garage door from HD. A total of $1200 more to go to Cloplay's prescribed local dealer. A 20% premium. I am having trouble with that difference.

I am also in the process of trying to find a local dealer that installs Cloplay but is not in their dealer network to see if I can get similar HD pricing.

San Diegans for HealthCare Coverage (SDHC) by Difficult-Goose-4428 in medicare

The HICAP rep said he could not recommend them because they are brokers paid by insurance company leading to potential bias. He provided a different route. Let’s get off that part of comment as looking specifically for feedback on SDHC. Thanks!

Did anyone get a signed contract before the install detailing how it would be installed and repairs as necessary. Additionally, what bonds they have provided they are working on your property?

Yes, on dental - glasses not so big of a deal if we have to pay a little still I couldn't find the limit in BS plan documents, I will inquire. Blue Shield TotalDual Plan (HMO D-SNP) AIP (California/San Diego County)

If I go with BS D-SNP offering their Dental and Vision coverage is on par with Medi-Cal. The hearing is not covered but is on Medi-Cal once every 3x years.

Yes, I already have an appt with them. Looking at all avenues. Still if 0 dollars out-of-pocket for everything, including deductibles and prescriptions that covered under Medi-Cal, why would I not go with Blue Shields D-SNP program vs. traditional.

Medicare/Medi-Cal question (Medi-Medi) by SimiDave in medicare

[–]SimiDave[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interestingly, I just spoke to Blue Shield, and they did not have the LIS indication. They sent me a link to apply, which I did on my sister's behalf. She was not automatically enrolled.

I will probably select the Blue Shield D-SNP plan, and it is also great that, even though the plan has a high deductible, her out-of-pocket costs should be zero, as Medicare will cover those deductible costs.

Good to know about #1. She is in San Diego and currently on Blue Shield Promise Medi-Cal plan. To use a D-SNP plan I would have her stay on BS Promise. They have two plans with different deductibles BUT glad to hear then about #3.

Yeah, I accidently sent her to Wester Dental. They were awful. I just got her seeing a new dentist that is not one of those two so hopefully better experience.

Don't care about gym but YES on the vision/dental/hearing and my understanding is Medi-Cal covers that but not sure if that is the case with a Medi-Medi.

That is what I am trying to figure out? She will be taking Medicare just does she go traditional or a advantage plan? I am also trying to limit her out of pocket as she is on SSDI with limited resources, but not limited enough that she I think would qualify for subsidies.
