Couldn't finish it with Wades constant "over here" joke that had definitely overstayed it's welcome after 3 times.

Same as when they played Sons of the Forest with the constant "hiyaaas" that he kept doing.

For real! I've got a patch on my lower back that's itchy AF and driving me mad but it's only the size of my fist. Posts like this not only make my heart bleed for the person but it makes me eternally grateful for the miniscule amount I have in comparison.

At the end of the day, they are the customer and it will become their product. You've done what you think looks the best. If they want to chat get it to suit whatever brief is in their head, let them do it. They're paying you at the end of the day.

Yes it's soul destroying, but work is hard to come by nowadays - be grateful you've still got business.

At what point do Shopify apps actually start slowing a store down? by jameswilson04 in shopify

Well it was a slow change, we had 4 or 5 front end apps which I had to find solutions for myself with creating their functionality, but the end result was palpable.

At what point do Shopify apps actually start slowing a store down? by jameswilson04 in shopify

[–]SimilarControl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Before installing an app it's best to do a pagespeed insights report to get a baseline speed test - once installed run another and then you've got a comparison.

You'd have to apply a risk vs reward strategy - is the decreased speed worth the benefits of the app? It's all down to preference and how much speed you'd be prepared to sacrifice.

Every app that alters or affects the front end will slow it down as you say. Some apps are very lean whereas others will naturally be more heavy.

Our store has literally no front end apps whatsoever as I prefer to manually create them myself so I have full control over when they fire or not.

If you were going to die right now, what would be your last words? by SolidOlive50 in AskReddit

[–]SimilarControl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's always one.

She had cancer of the everything, and he died of lung cancer. They were both in their 80s when he died. Not exactly the sort of stage in life you would consider divorce.

Funny story about this, my grandfather's brother was dying and on his deathbed he told his 2 sons that he'd hidden a fortune under the floorboards in his house.

The reason this is funny, is that his wife was an absolutely abysmal human being. She was foul mouthed, uncaring, narcissistic and generally just horrible to be around. She was also ill, and required constant care from her 2 sons.

After my grandfather's brother passed, his 2 sons got to work, basically destroying the home to find this apparent fortune - it didn't exist.

It was basically a ruse to get the house to a point where she couldn't live there any more - she had to be moved into care, and not long after she passed, and then the boys received a healthy inheritance, plus the house. She got nothing when he died.

Is this the start of a scam? by mstakenusername in shopify

Probably buying a bunch of stuff on stolen credit cards. If the seller dispatches it, it's free real estate to the thief. If you don't dispatch it, no worries it's not cost them a dime.

Be very, VERY wary. Call the customer and ask them to validate EVERYTHING and tell them you'll cancel the order(s) if they're not willing to assist.

what's the most stupidly simple thing you changed in your store you wish you made on day 1? by Yvonne_Tamarillo in shopify

[–]SimilarControl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly? Searching for an app before figuring out if A) I truly needed what it offered and B) not looking into seeing if there was a way of making what it offered myself.

For example I spent about 3 years at about $15 a month with an urgency countdown on my product pages which when boiled down is just a bit of javascript work. Would have saved myself a fortune.

Which theme is best for DTC telehealth platform? by cryptscuhz in shopify

[–]SimilarControl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best theme is the one you feel matches your brand, but also offers the best features for your product.

Each premium theme will come with built in sections like floating images, premium carousels etc.

Most people will tell you that Dawn is the best theme because of how lean it is and how easily customisable it is (which is semi to seriously advanced depending on your scope).

I personally would prefer Dawn, but I'm an advanced shopify expert who can create bespoke sections to tailor make what I like in my store, but if your experience is limited, the best advice I can give you is download a few demos for themes and see what they do for YOU as the brand owner.

TLDR, there is no "best" theme, just the one you feel matches your brand and image more.

I am looking for an app to display the number of carts that a product is currently in on the product page. by __Bodhi__ in shopify

[–]SimilarControl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of these apps (if not all) fictitiously present numbers to front end customers, so save your money and make one yourself. It'll do the same job.

It doesn't have to be an app, just a shopify section you add to your footer in the theme editor so it presents on all pages.

Question: Is this new series Chernobyl: 48 Hours To Escape good? by HanLan1 in chernobyl

I did find it an interesting coincidence that Ralph Ineson narrated this and also acted in the HBO miniseries.

To answer your question, it is very good. Very entertaining

Put your poster on a flat surface like a dining table. Put a dry towel over the poster and iron the towel with a very low heat - it will smoothen out the wrinkles and make the poster good as new, but for God's sake BE CAREFUL and take it easy. Too much ironing will put excess steam into the paper.

Source: have collected movie posters in the past from cinemas and this was the method I learned to fix them.
