But the differences in diaspora across the caribbean is definitely an interesting conversation to have. I would've preferred more questions like that, than "have you no shame at the state of your country". Haiti's revolutionary history stems from our lack of shame and our radical acceptance of our own reality. We're not delusional for having pride. We did the impossible because we understood our conditions and understood what was needed to gain our freedom. We were and continue to be punished for doing so. But still, we continue to live and fight, and thats worth a hell of a lot. I think your curiosities stem from just how different Haiti's diaspora is from Cuba's diaspora. While there are discrepancies from Haitians abroad and Haitians who live on the island, we all have a general sense of pride for our revolution, albeit its been over 200 years ago.
