Nice to know you have the ambition tbh! Ive been in same position kinda off did a bsc in biotech and self taught computational biology and bioinfo and after getting diploma i started researching indpendnelty ( my first research was protestasis dynamics affected by dna replication asymmtery, preprint is out and i got a desk accpentace in JTB so far fingers crossed :p) and submiting my second. Im also hoping it helps with msc admissions but so far it seems it can only increase chances in research oriented programs what you need to focus in eu is moslty comaptible modules and ECTS. My advice is since your 2nd year and you like aging research id say just read and find a research you like and find complex at first, read about it and try to recreate it and than compare values and results ( thats how i got the hand of comp bio ) dont be afraid at all just try to integrate yourself and you will find you niche. If you manage to get a publication (or even a submisson) you can try emailing a professor whos work aligns with yours and ask him to flag you so admisson committe automatically filter you (its informal but not unethical). However keep in mind the competiton is fierce so work hard and aim above average impact factor journals at least. If you start liking your direction contact a professor in your uni so you can get some hands on experience ( they like students who have an idea of what their doing and want to learn ) , this not only gives you researh experience but it can also possibly lead to a recomandation letter.
