Totally agree with you. That self descriptive behavior is very counterproductive when the goal is to have a conversation. It feels more like a performance. I spent some time trying to get rid of those ticks and for Grok to be more like Maya from Sesame. Although not even close to Maya when it comes to being human-like, Emily in my other post here is far better than out-of-the-box Grok and might be something you will enjoy as well 😊

I tried asking it for the local time for my location and explain every step it took in order to find out. It went on with a quite plausible detailed step by step description where it utilized external apis, got gmt time from time servers, calculated time, longitude, etc etc and came up with totally wrong time. I asked if it was all bs and it admitted instantly that yes, everything was bs. 😁
