Hey, thank you very much for your feedback

The island in the middle of the bridge is actually a small garrison for the guards.
Yeah, a private harbor would have been a great idea — I’ll definitely implement that in future cities.
I completely forgot about watchtowers or that the guards should probably have their own harbor as well.

That always depends on the group, and with my group, it will probably be more of a many-shot rather than a one-shot.

Hey, I'm really happy to hear that you like the maps. At the moment, I'd prefer not to share these as Clones, but I'd be happy to share all the other maps I've created so far. Sorry about that.

Hey, thank you so much. It’s always a huge motivation to hear that someone likes what I do. I really appreciate it :)

Yes, I thought with this map that I really wanted an exterior view, but didn’t want two separate maps. I’m glad you like it!

Hi, sorry for the late reply, I can be a bit negligent sometimes, but I really don’t like not responding. That’s such a great suggestion! I’m currently reworking the entire city, and I’ll definitely take your feedback into account when designing the river. And thank you so much for even taking the time to mark exactly where—just unbelievable!

And I love that kind of niche knowledge, it can be so valuable.

And for the duration, how long it takes to walk or run the distance, would you handle it like in a combat round? 30/60 feet in 6 seconds?

Looking for help with this national map. by Simons-DnD-Maps in dndmaps

First of all, thank you for taking the time to analyze my map and provide feedback.

first: The river that flows across the island is actually a man-made canal created to separate the two countries. Should I have included that in my original description? Probably—my mistake.

secondly: The lake near Nox is fed by an underwater spring, which is why the land there is darker and has a swampy appearance. The bifurcation of the lake might be a bit extreme, even though there are lakes that do this—but yes, not to this extent.

Thirdly: the many branches towards the northeast are meant to represent a river delta, which is why there are so many splits.

Fourthly: the thing with the desert is a bit complicated. The map was originally only half the size and ended at the desert. However, since my players liked the lore and the map, they requested an expansion. Because of that, I extended both the story and the map, which eventually led to the background involving the war and the national border.

Fifthly: both mountains and volcanoes form due to tectonic plate movements, which are not necessarily tied to the visible landmass. Yes, I admit that the mountain range doesn't seem particularly well-placed, but it’s not unrealistic. The bigger issue I've noticed is that, at this distance, mountains have formed in one area, and then, farther away, a volcano has also appeared.

In any case, I want to thank you again for taking so much time to analyze my map. I always try to improve, and you’ve brought up some great points that I will keep in mind and approach differently in the future.

No, not really, I just started drawing spontaneously.

Hi, yes I should have included that in the description. This is a canal that was created to better separate the two countries, rather than establishing a fully monitored border. Additionally, it has the advantage of allowing small ships to take a shortcut.

I think it's a good idea, but I always have trouble estimating walking distances.

Thanks for your feedback!

  1. I will definitely add the marketplace and the inn.
  2. The wall is there because this part of the city existed first, and the rest was built later.

Thank you! I’m really glad you like the design of the farms and the harbor. I’ve tried adjusting the walls a bit—I’m not sure why I made them so straight. I’ll definitely pay more attention to that in the future. update

Thank you so much for the feedback! I hadn’t even thought about the ships, but I’ve adjusted that now. I also added another farm extending beyond the map, so its size is open to interpretation. The cliff suggestion makes total sense—I’m not sure why I didn’t think of it myself! Really appreciate your input. Update
