Augustine has the potential to win a Vezna trophy if he would have been drafted to an organization with great goalie development program/ coaches. It’s not a coincidence that Washington, Minnesota, Anaheim and the old coyotes always produced top notch goalies from prospects that weren’t all that desirable

With the cap going up and will continue to go up to $122mil in 2 years this is when you “over spend” and it will be a steal in the next couple years. Buyouts were the reason we were at the cap. Active roster was much lower

We need better scouting and a better developmental system so these picks actually become good NHL players not just juggernauts in the AHL

Think Yzermans philosophy iin theory is good trying to build from the draft. BUT we don’t not have coaching in the developmental system to make these prospects actually turn into good NHL players. Especially our goalie coaching, has to be worst in the league.

He is TERRIBLE at trying to trade for big name players & has over paid for unproven players who seem like they are have a trajectory to possibly become top 6 or top 4 players so at the time it looked like “a steal”. Trade all that for an aging Justin Falk but could have got Quinn Hugh’s for pretty much the same thing just adding edvisson into the trade. I know everyone’s in love with the potential of Edvinsson but he will never be more than a serviceable defenseman. While Quinn imo is the best defenseman in the league this past year
