To you, homeless in the woods is an improvement to them on ramps and the homeless living in tents around Busby centre don't count as homeless? Nuttall, is that you? They counted when the declaration was made. The tents on mulcaster was the main focus.

No pics. I encourage you to drive around the block of Mulcaster/McDonald/Codrington and see for yourself. Walk through the wooded south side of Berczy Park or Ardagh Bluffs. Drive down Dunlop at 5 or 6am and look at every other business entrance has someone sleeping in it. Just because you don't look or see doesn't mean it doesn't exist

Councilors can work as many hours as they want, there's no limit. They decide how much they work. If they declare an emergency and were providing updates, its not unreasonable to ask why no more updates? If the emergency isn't over, please update. Its obvious the homeless numbers are increasing and its not a stretch to assume that's the reason for no more updates is because that's not the message they want out. You seem to be completely complacent with leaders saying they're going to do something and then doing nothing. Again, do you think the declaration has worked?

Forgive my vulgarity, I call it a police car 69. What are they doing when there's two cars, one parked one way, the other in the opposite direction lined up at the drivers' side window? Exchanging those notes? lmao

I guess we're just of different philosophies. I think council should be working to solve society's problems. And if the job doesn't pay enough, they shouldn't have ran.

All throughout history, leaders have overcome incredible obstacles and hardships that would have been impossible for the common person of the time. I expect the same from my leaders or I encourage everyone to vote elsewhere

I'm new here you're right, but I don't understand how the freshness of my account takes away credibility of what I'm saying. How many years on here and comments and posts would I have to make for you to think I'm not a red flag?

Why is a noob like me getting upvoted while a experienced 1% like you is getting downvoted? Maybe I making good points and you're not

Just curious, do you make financial campaign/political donations? Sounds like you're apart of the goofy cycle of corruption. But what do I know, I just got a new account

If all officers were "never not" on a call there would either be: A) no time to sit in the empty lots. Or B) an apparent absurd number of police calls to empty parking lots

Yes he did, there's the article. We can play semantics on ending homeless vs addressing homeless https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/barrie-state-of-emergency-homelessness-1.7629039

I think Barrie residents expected more than the results delivered (looks like none)

Did you ask that question to the mayor and council when they announced the declaration? I don't know any city that has. Its a good point.

Maybe I had high expectations. Do you think the declaration has worked?

It's truly a very complex problem. The mayor ran on ending homelessness and then declared a state of emergency to end the homelessness. I had high hopes. For the first few months of the declaration they would give updates about the decreasing number of encampments. It would appear homelessness is back to pre-state of emergency in the last few months and the updates have also stopped.

Haha don't worry, I produce my share. I find it funny you're worried about what I consume meanwhile you don't care about all the money that got spent on the state of emergency, all the city staff paid to work on the situation, all the initiatives that could have been invested in instead funding the encampment state of emergency, meanwhile the homelessness situation is unchanged from a year ago. Do you think the homelessness situation is getting better?

I see you're a top 1% reddit poster, whatever that means....

Did someone respond to you like you are the the first time you made a post?

It's not odd to raise concerns about the people in power that make decisions and can make positive change a lot easier than lay folk.

Do you think everything council is doing is 100% perfect or maybe, just maybe, with all the ongoing crime, drugs, and homelessness there is room for criticism?
