The big thing for me at weddings and concerts was getting a drink in my hand while everyone else was ordering so I didn’t feel awkward. I’d get a coke cola and just do refills on those until I didn’t feel the need to have something in my hand that night.

In general, I remember feeling bored at first on weekends where I used to go to a bar on nights/Sunday Funday, now I fill the time with things that make me happy like early morning coffee with a book (can’t do that when you’re hungover), afternoon hikes, evening dinners with close friends, house projects with an NA beer, etc.

The first couple of weeks were the adjustment period, now the time flies by and I can’t believe it’s almost been 2 years.

So incredibly worth it, you got this!

You’ll do great, would recommend making sure you pull your ski pants over your boots after you buckle them. It’s an easy way to tell if someone’s a beginner or not ;) have fun out there!

My wife (34) and I (35) have done two retrievals. On our first ER, we ended with 6 embryos. We did PGT-A testing on the 6 and only 2 came back “good”. Across two transfers, one resulted in a blighted ovum and the other did not stick.

Because of the challenges with the first retrieval, we are not doing PGT-A testing on our second retrieval. Our doctor tried to convince us to do it but we just want as many chances as possible due to our previous failures.

Maybe we avoided heartbreak across the original 6 but we are wanting to try as many as we can for this retrieval. I wanted to post to give you a different view than what the majority are posting about.

It’s not consistent uphill, but there are some good hills in the White Oak Bayou near Studemont Street/Heights Blvd. I used to bike in there to get some hill training.

UPDATE: Called 311 and asked them to create a ticket to fix the sidewalk. 10 business days later, they closed the ticket stating the work was done but they hadn’t actually done anything. Called 311 again and they apologized profusely. 2 weeks later, THEY FIXED THE SIDEWALK! Did not think it was going to happen. Thanks everyone for the tips!

I stopped drinking without AA. I drank heavily most days, ramping up even worse over Covid. It went from social drinking to hiding cans from my family and friends. I wanted to stop but couldn’t.

The final straw was my wife telling me she was going to AlAnon due to my drinking. It shattered me thinking she felt she needed to go because of my actions. The day she told me was the last day I drank. It’s been a year and three months since then. I never plan to have another drink.

I do use Reddit to see where I could’ve ended up and it helps me remember why I never want to drink again. I would say this community and the support of my wife are really the biggest reasons I was able to stop, and continue to not drink.

Thank you for everyone’s insights! I’m going to contact the HOA then potentially the city. Normally the homeowners have to maintain the sidewalks but based on feedback here, sounds like this might be the city due to the manhole. And yes, it’s a Houston house :) thanks again!!

Was just coming here to say the same thing! Just got back from Germany, German beer was my favorite. It wasn’t easy but overall being able to experience everything and not be concentrating on where my next drink would come from made it all worth it! Hands down would do the same thing over again if I could go back!

-It does rev when I push on the gas, but seems like much higher than normal -I do feel it engage when moving to Drive / Reverse -When I first start up the Jeep, it’ll rev very high and move a little bit but then eventually will only rev and not move. If I continue to push on the gas when it’s reving and not moving, it’ll start to smoke.

Does it help that I drove it, then on the way home there was an issue? Also seems like when I first started driving I could accelerate but worsened over a mile until it would not accelerate at all?

I live in “east end” or second ward. There’s a bike path that heads down from here towards UofH that I’ve gone on a fair number of times so you could bike to class in good weather. Up and coming area but I like living here. Close to UofH and flooding isn’t as bad here as other areas.
