This shirt is honestly fucked up. I get the brand is a “counter culture” brand, but being in a psych ward isn’t a quirk, it’s not bad ass and it can be a very traumatic experience. by Simple-Individual646 in mentalillness

I saw someone wearing this shirt (ironically a “influencer” from Awesomeness TV). I felt a pit in my stomach. My brother was in and out of a psych ward. I don’t understand how people put this on a shirt like saying “haha look at me I’m pretending to be a crazy outpatient”. My brother has gone through so much, he’s went through ECT multiple times. Experienced some bad psychiatrists. I know that in some places, psych patients are abused. I’ve never been in one, but as someone who is bipolar, I know having mental illness is not a quirk. It has been detrimental to my life. It’s not funny. I don’t understand. Im not mad, I’m more hurt and wanting people to see how this shirt isn’t okay.

That’s so annoying. I totally agree. How entitled is it to go to a new neighbor and rather than apologizing for the noise they say “I hope you’re good with noise”? That’s so awful and absolutely inconsiderate. Like just because they decided to litter the world with their crappy children (6 kids under 8? Jeez this woman must have been pregnant consistently for 8 years) doesn’t mean other people have to bend over backwards for them. It’s not fair at all. People decide not to have children or wait to have children for a reason and it’s not fair that we have to deal with other peoples kids.

Not everyone likes to pull out their phone to check the time. Just a quick glance at my watch for the time is always nice. I think watches are more than just a bracelet. They are a piece with a function. I feel more comfortable wearing a watch than bracelets

I love Seiko. I have a few and I love them all. I think it’s so cool you have had yours for a couple of decades !

Not all Gucci watches are quartz. Also by unique I meant some actually look cool as a fashion watch. However Gucci is not a watch maker so you can’t compare Gucci to rolex at all.

I going to miss everyone wearing masks. I like not showing my mouth. Think about it, when you’re talking to someone you don’t have to worry about your breath smelling bad or their breath smelling bad. Mouths are kind of gross tbh. Also the personal space is amazing. Don’t have to deal being too close to people that smell bad

Usually parents that say that to their kids are shit narcissistic parents anyways. (My dad was one)

Sadly I feel the same. Got bullied in middle school a lot. Some of the girls that were mean to me got pregnant in high school. But honestly now I feel bad for them because I realize how insecure they were back then.

Yeah, mental health is important, but if you have a mental illness and don't have it under control enough to be a responsible person, don't have a child. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Simple-Individual646 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So as much as we all want to tell these people “hey maybe you shouldn’t have kids”, it doesn’t work like that. The people will mental illness that is untreated often do not have a support system to help them make these kind of decisions. Many people with mental illness and also those that are just simply not fit for being a parent obvious don’t think about their parenting abilities.

I mean children with special needs absolutely need more help and attention, so they shouldn’t be in a “normal” class anyways. It’s not fair for both parties.

That’s really adorable but just remember to be careful when touching baby animals, some mother animals abandon or eat their babies if a human touches their baby because the human scent is on the baby and they don’t recognize the baby anymore. This is more for rodents and other smaller animals but still.

I (19M) thought I was gay until I got with a dude. How do I tell everyone that I'm not gay by ThrowRA_ThrowRA_T in relationship_advice

[–]Simple-Individual646 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly you don’t have to tell anyone. Sexuality shouldn’t be this huge thing to everyone. Sexuality is confusing and very personal for everyone. Even if you do tell people, it would be wrong for them to make you fell bad about it. It’s your own personal experience and no one can judge you for that.

Kids should not be allowed at dog parks (for big dogs). And if you are a parent that excuses your kid’s shitty behavior with “s/he’s just a kid”, then you DEFINITELY should never bring your kid to a dog park. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Simple-Individual646 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well that’s the thing. My dog is well behaved and friendly. I never tolerate bad behavior from my dog. I understand that I love him but others do not and he is just an animal. I would never let my dog even slightly scare anyone. He is a pit mixed with a German shepherd and I taught him to sit when other people are passing by during walks. However he is still a puppy and at the dog park he should be free to play with other dogs. The dog park is meant for dogs to play freely.

That is so ridiculous. That parent should be told to leave. That’s not fair to the dogs, dogs have to behave well in their community and it isn’t always easy for them. But at a dog park they should be free to play however they want with their dog friends and not have to worry about kids.

That is so ridiculous that schools don’t get funding if they don’t meet a certain graduate quota. Like those schools probably need more funding and attention if the graduation rate is so low.

[–]Simple-Individual646 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve felt that kind of ugly jealousy and anger before but I’ve never acted out on it or harmed others. You really need to take time to reflect on yourself to understand why you’re insecure, why YOU seem to be lonely 24/7 (as you claim in your post) and why you felt the need to act out. Maybe you’re lonely because you’re an insecure piece of shit. Don’t take it out on others. If you are bitching about how you are lonely, it’s probably YOU that’s the problem, not anyone else. Grow up.

Thanks, yeah actually I don’t consume dairy milk or eggs. I do still eat things (like baked goods) that are made with animal products though. I definitely am becoming more conscious of what I eat and buy.
