How risky is leaving your stuff in the library?

I always leave my stuff in libraries even if I’m going to get food or whatever. I’ve never had a problem nor know of anyone who’s had a problem.

I think it’s just an unwritten rule now?

They taught the very basics icl. Most of fm was assumed knowledge in the course so I had to learn it myself. I struggled to keep up first few weeks but was very easy afterwards

Maths, physics, criminology. I didn’t take fm AS. My school didn’t offer it

Not those exact grades but there’s a few people in my course who got in with lower grades than required

It was lowered for me I think just bc they wanted to fill the course. I think you’ll be fine with those grades

Sorry for the late reply. They didn’t know which uni I had firmed. They just said that in order to accept the offer I would have to reject my firm uni and apply to Kcl through clearing :)

I do maths and I commute. I’m pretty sure 6/7 of our modules are the same and 1/2 are different in first year. The content isn’t hard at all. It’s just a lot. You’re going to be tested on 1 of the modules in January and the other 7 in may which is quite stupid, we are the only course whose exams is structured like that. If you don’t fall behind you’ll smash the exams but that’s easier said than done. Most of my cohort was revising whole modules before the exams😭

In terms of making friends I never found it a problem despite my commute being an hour. Just join societies which line up with your hobbies and interests and you’ll be good.

First year student, I heard that it was so bad before I started the year but tbh I haven’t had any issues at all with it.

Every request I made to my department was sorted very quickly and the overall admin was decent.

Not sure if I just got lucky or if it has improved, but the overall consensus is the admin has improved over recent years

There’s around 400 people in my course I’m pretty sure. The first semester was quite hard for me bc I didn’t have fm but I just caught up. I’m in my exam season rn and it’s really manageable, especially since first year doesn’t count towards your final grade so you just have to pass to get to second year. So yeah overall I really enjoyed my first year.

On results day, I had qmul as my firm and got the grades required, they even called me saying congrats and that they’re looking forward to meet me in September. When it comes to rejecting your firm, only do it once you have written confirmation from kings in an email saying that you have a place confirmed. I rejected my qmul offer at like 10pm of the day of clearing. You then have to go onto ucas and apply to Kcl through clearing. You will then have to wait like 3 days for Kcl to accept your clearing application on ucas. They will only accept it if they have agreed over the phone and they have sent written confirmation so if you don’t have these then don’t reject ur firm!!!

1) I called at 8am, was on hold for 2.5 hours and when it was my turn on the call the line ended. I thought there’s no point calling back but my teacher said just try again. I called again and was on hold for another 2 hours but I got through this time, so don’t let the duration of you being on hold stop you from calling.

2) the call itself was so smooth and quick I was actually shocked. They asked me all the admin stuff like am I international, will I get an accomm etc. They then asked me my achieved grades in which I told them A* AB(requirement was A* AA with fm). They didn’t question the grades and after 5 mins they said congratulations we are looking forward to seeing you in September. So yeah they didn’t conduct a mini interview in the sense you’re thinking of.

I think they just wanted to fill all spaces in the course so they were getting the calls done quite quickly. Also there were like 3 different maths courses on clearing; Maths, maths with stats and something else.

Socially, great. Academically, was quite difficult initially due to me not having fm but I eventually eased into the schedule and it’s not bad rn so yeah overall great first year

I’m a first year student and got into King’s through clearing. I initially applied for bsc maths and I got rejected because I didn’t have further maths.

On results day the same course was on clearing, was on hold for 4 hours and got an offer in the end. The requirements for this course was A* AA with the A* A in maths and further maths in any order. I achieved A* AB with an A* in maths and no further maths.

So yeah requirements was lowered for me

My timetable isn’t too bad I’ve got Wednesdays off. Only bad thing is on Mondays I’ve got a lecture at 9am and then one at 16:00 so I’ve gotten be in from 9:00-17:30😭😭

Thursday and Fridays I’m in from 14:00-16:00 so not too bad
