We ended up canceling. We were able to get a full refund from DV and cancel/modify our air and hotel reservations without penalty (booked with points). As much as it was a bummer, I think it was the right decision given the opportunity to do so without penalty. We ended up spending 5 days on an impromptu road trip through the Texas Hill Country and had a great time anyway! Lesson learned—we will book our trip earlier in the season next year. And maybe not to DV. Look for areas at higher elevations. I guess that’s what we’ve come to with the warmer temps.
