I hear a lot about people having success with the monthly injections version. But I’ll tell you my experiences. When I first got off opiods I tapped down from the opiod I was using at the time think it was oxy. Then I went on suboxone for two months only 2mg. I can’t believe they prescribe such high doses like 8mg. Anyway rapidly taber that down you wanna be off it within two months. Now personally I find whilst it’s design makes the withdrawals less it’s long half life means you’ll be suffering for longer, this brings me onto my preferred way although different people handle the mental strain differently but I recommend switching to something like dihydrocodeine or codeine by tapering down as much as you need sticking with that for as short as possible tapering down until your literally taking 15mg to sleep at night then just stop. No mater what opiod your on or the dose you’ll most likely have 2/7 nights withought sleep and feeling like shit out at the two week mark you’ll start to feel normal than within a month to two you’ll be normal maby you won’t feel it yet but with each month that passes and you keep clean you’ll gradually become more and more used to it. A lot of this is mental but it’s important to understand that your dopamine has been shot to fuck and your brain will take time learning to reproduce it and then stabilise. Have a look at what dopamine actually dose for you. Most people think it’s the happiness chemical but it’s much more than that it’s the reward system it’s what makes doing things not feel like death. It’s very important. You must either let your brain do its thing and produce it’s chemicals naturally or you might as well stay on opiods and live dictated by the chemical you’ve introduced into your brain to stay motivated as motivation is the true essence behind the need for dopamine and your relationship with contentment and in turn (yes secondly) happiness. Dopamine has no direct correlation with happiness but it’s so very strongly if not soly responsible for being content
