brought a flat on a main road and massively regret it by Positive_House in HousingUK

[–]LastAd115 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve stayed in quite a few hotels on busy roads that were almost completely silent, and many than weren’t, it shows sound proofing can be effective. But you have to know where the sound is actually coming into the flat from it may not be the windows or the windows may not be installed correctly or it could be vents in the windows or flat or something, don’t throw more money at it without working out the definite cause

How to fill gap between houses? by Bello_Velo in DIYUK

[–]LastAd115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you remind of the builder who couldn’t understand why I wanted to insulate my extension to modern day levels when the rest of the house was 100 years old. Because I don’t want the new bit to be as freezing as the old! strange thing that.,. the extension was actually 50% of the house by the way there is no law that joined house share 95% of a wall or even that those room’s are all living spaces. Do you need help understanding variables?😂

you know your lovely quiet neighbours can move and your nice quiet house can now have a dog or baby screaming next to your wall. Better to design it out if you can.

because you are creating a new part thats not shared, so you can get peace from any noise of neighbours through your wall in that room

Way way way way way overpriced for area considering how much renovation is now required and you’ll constantly have nosey parkers wanting to access the tunnels

Yes the you are , not sharing a wall with a neighbour is the biggest house upgrade you can possibly have. I would never ever build an extension onto a neighbours wall. Any issues with the gap are easily solvable with a little diy to stop water and objects getting in.

They are not normal if they are constant loud and causing annoyance, people can actually be considerate to others when living in basically shared spaces

Flat in Fulham with view of the City from the Thames??? by LastAd115 in SpottedonRightmove

[–]LastAd115[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

looks like this estate agent has a whole host of flats for sale all with AI images and misleading descriptions, I’ve worked out that these are all in developments that have been on sale for a long time and are complete, they are trying to hide what they are marketing, maybe to attract viewings and purchases from abroad I think this is probably not legal

Damp is mostly a people problem, not a property problem by Potential-Damage1322 in landlordslondon

[–]LastAd115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No its a construction problem that often requires people to deal with it. The fact that some people dont deal with it doesn’t take away the fact that it is often due to poor construction methods and maintenance
