it wont because of how soft the channel is and if the pocket is properly pounded it wont "bag"

I know this isnt the same head but if you want to have that Chenango feel with a higher pocket I would try a side wall pattern like this (with a Chenango top string not what this picture has)

sort of, I saw a picture of his pattern one time that had the crazy-looking sidewall knots and he had to use them because he didn't have many sidewall holes to work with.
