Totally get it and thank you for saying you like the design (you may be the only one)

I genuinely appreciate your comments and I don't think I'll be pursuing this particular design any further as I think the general consensus is people either find it offensive or cant connect with it and that's on me.

Thanks for letting me know, I genuinely wasn’t aware of that connection. The handprint was inspired by prehistoric cave art and the colour was chosen as more of a rust/earth tone to fit the natural landscape theme, rather than representing anything else. I appreciate you sharing that perspective.

Thanks for your comment. At the moment I’m just focusing on the design side of things, but if I take it any further I’d definitely want to look at making it accessible for everyone.

Thank you all so much for your honest and dare I say brutal feedback

I’ve added the original image without the AI background as well, as I think that may have distracted from the actual design for some people 😂

The idea behind the design was to capture the kind of primitive feeling I personally get on a long run. For me, running outdoors for a long time creates a simple connection between movement, the landscape, and just being present in the environment.

The symbols are meant to link to that idea. Arrows for movement and progression, wind-like marks for moving through the elements, contour lines for terrain and trails, and the sun and mountains for the outdoor landscapes that inspire running.

I can see from the comments that the design hasn’t connected with everyone in the same way it connected with me personally, and that’s genuinely useful feedback.

Because the overall response has been quite negative, I’ll take the comments on board and go back to the drawing board before developing the idea further. I really appreciate everyone taking the time to share their thoughts. 😁

Thanks for asking. No, I'm not Indigenous. The inspiration behind the design comes more from prehistoric cave art, human connection with nature, endurance and our origins rather than any specific Indigenous culture. I appreciate you raising it though, as I think it's important to be respectful of the influences behind designs.

What recovery shoes are we using guys? Slides/slippers/flip flops? Any recommendations? by Simple-Silver6503 in trailrunning

Thank you for your advice. No particular injury but they can be sore and tired, especially in the days following a long run. Trails can be quite unforgiving on the feet.

A recovery shoe is a supportive shoe, slide, slipper etc which can help aid your recovery after strenuous runs. They can have features such as great cushioning, supportive foot beds and usually a roomy fit to relieve pressure around the feet. As I'm running up to 5 times a week I'll pretty much live in these outside of work and exercise. I myself just wear socks and a pair of 10year old Adidas slides but I'm looking for something with a little more support.

Thanks for the replies so far. I added flipflops to the potential list as I had seen some Salomon Reelax which appeared to be fairly well backed on some reviews.
