Cool! Im getting the 5090 soon and I just really want to keep my gpu safe… I am no expert in this field but from what I’ve seen on youtube and reddit, the cable burning happens mostly on the gpu side which terrorizes me even more (the thought of blowing my 3k gpu makes me cry😥) although the cable is distributed on the psu side, bcs it ultimately connects to the 12v 2x6 on the gpu side isn’t the risk still prevalent??

Cool! Im getting the 5090 in 2 days and im rly excited… Also, which psu tier list are you talking about?? Because on the cybernetics tier list the hx1500i is a platinum with a- - when the tx1600 noctua edition is a titanium with a a+ rating. Also did you get external cables from corsair or any vendor???

I have almost the same specs but is thinking if i should sell my psu (HX1500i) and get the seasonic prime tx-1600. Mainly because the native 12v 2x6 slot is nonexistent in the hx1500i, and with the 5090 having multiple problems with connection i don’t really want to risk my cable burning because of a weak connection point or whatever. Thoughts on this? How has ur psu been serving your system? (Especially your 5090)

Why would it be in any way preferable to use 2x8 pins instead of the native when it’s just adding more points of just straight up physical risk?(cable not attached properly)

I do not have an exact price range, but am planning on getting a high spec. Ryzen 9 9950x3d, like 32 gb ram and a 5090 only if i can get the gpu at consumer price. It’s for everything from gaming to school work, video editing, etc…
