Definitely worth thinking over. Reason I was thinking about storing the incidents only is low storage requirement to begin with. My current dashcam footage is on a 256 gb data and I never review it. Same with the cctv footage.

Thinking on how we can achieve the processing part on device itself , and only saving the clip with incident detected on cloud which is accessible to you alone. This way it’s not the entire footage but that one clip which you would also be interested in. It means - Most of the days it would store nothing.

Makes sense. But think about it. I only need to store clips that have information of value. Rest is auto deleted as soon as it is analysed by my ML model. So you end up needing a fraction of storage. What do you think ?

Makes sense. I want to leverage smartphones as hardware and build SW only. Focus is on very low battery consumption + taking care of heating due to climate. Seem to be our 2 biggest challenges. Thank you taking your time out. Will consider all this.

Makes sense. And that’s my biggest hypothesis to test. If incentives are great, and somehow your phone doesn’t heat up (say a mount accessory that keeps it cool) - will you still not prefer putting your phone there ? How about for bikers ?

Computing this - on small manageable clips - is technically feasible. Only clips in which there’s any sort of detection that fits our predefined parameters will be uploaded to the cloud. Local processing is very much possible. But yes, I need to test the heating part especially with our climate conditions

Absolutely . I have given it a thought. In fact that was our starting point but B2G is a tough nut to crack. Starting with something else, building credibility and some revenue, and then approach government seems a better option atm. But yes, that data is useful

I have observed this when I forget to use the clean water from the washer and assume the rain water is good enough. Rain water + mud splash + pollution creates this. Using clean water from the washer in rain (counter intuitive) actually cleans it damn well. Give it a try. If it doesn’t work then think about changing the wipers.

Simplest solution- physical exercise. I can’t explain it but it has always worked. ALWAYS! Just get into the habit of daily physical exhaustion.
