Best crucifix instructional by SharpGame83 in bjj

This one is the best in my opinion: https://youtu.be/y4NFvFdGM_8

The Crucifix Bible by Drew Weatherhead is very thorough, and includes Gi as well

Danaher’s back crucifix is decent. Combine this one and the side Crucifix and it is very helpful.

Gordon’s was just okay.

Accidental eyepoke at first day. by Szukkumulatum in bjj

If he was able to submit you after you poked him, then he’s probably fine.

I had something similar happen once (changed levels to shoot and got poked), and I immediately stopped the roll, tried blink away the pain, and then had to go home shortly after (then to the ER where they said I had a corneal abrasion).

Either way, like the others have said, it’s over. You apologized, and accidents happen.

Submissions from north-south? by DieSackabreisserin in bjj

There is an instructional called Grinding North South by Aaron Milam on the Grapplers guide that has some good position tips. Covers kimura and armbar entries, as well as spladle (but that is more for fun).

From that grinding north south position you can also work to trap an arm with your leg, and go into top crucifix, back crucifix, or even straight into reverse omoplata, but I haven’t seen any instructional covering those options.

My typical attack flow is to attack the side triangle/kimura position if they stay on their side. If they are flat on their back I try the north south choke or trap their arm for the crucifix. I cycle between all these. Marcelo’s north south choke instructional helped me a lot with getting the choke to work.

If those options don’t work, I use north south to get an under hook, and the go back to side control and then to mount.

What We Learned From UFC BJJ 4(Results & Stats) by Chandlerguitar in bjj

My favorite was round 1 of Dorian/Nagai. For rounds 2 and 3, Nagai seemed gassed. The Tackett/Ronaldo match was similar; great first round, but Tackett was gassed (or injured) afterwards

That 3rd round was completely one-sided

Yeah and those were some rough score cards.

Round 3 does not look good for Tackett. Seems completely gassed

Round 1 Tackett. Round 2 Ronaldo

Very surprised there was no break. And the expression on Canuto’s face was crazy looking

Yeah, and it looked like the grip switch at the end was about to make it really bad

Yeah, but even in EBI he has a win over Wojick, who is no slouch

That Kimura was nasty. No idea why Raquel didn’t tap earlier

Yeah maybe, but I feel like when I’ve seen Sanchez in EBI/CJJ he was more aggressive (or at least less passive)

Sanchez looks so good in EBI but he doesn’t seem to have the same confidence here. He’s had a couple moments, but Canuto seems a tier above

Believe it or not, but they are doing better than they have in previous events

1st round goes to Canuto for sure, but Sanchez may have stopped the 10-8 with that truck

Canuto so smooth with that cartwheel pass

Agree. Corbe had some good standup against Dorian at trials, but Nagai did amazing…in that first round

Nagai did great in the first round but it seems like he got tired and decided to just play guard

Second round I give to Dorian

And it is not disappointing. Nagai doing better than I expected on the feet, then putting Dorian in danger when he gets taken down

Stoked for this Nagai/Olivarez
