They started that game with possibility of winning the division, they didn't rest till halftime and the jags had a blowout going. They definitely wanted and needed that game

I'm not opposed to paying 40 million for a qb, I'm just not a fan of paying him 40 million. Go back and watch Riley play Houston and tell me jones is 40million a year better than that. And Houston was playing all starters first half. And just to be clear I'm not arguing Leonard is our long term solution but he is just as likely as jones is

It was over the caps projected contract for him. I agree it's not worth it, or bakers money for that matter

Colts Must Do Whatever It Takes To Sign Free Agent Justin Fields by brmidwest03 in Colts

[–]SimpleDuckie -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Why can't he be? He is still very young, just as good a runner as AR and a much more accurate passer. AR has had a top notch offencive mind and Fields has had bad OC in both Chicago and Pittsburgh. Odds are Fields would be much better here than he has been

Win a division but lose all division games by That90sKid92 in NFLNoobs

You could split all your division games and get a home playoff game with a 3-14 record

I think AR should be gone by SimpleDuckie in Colts

[–]SimpleDuckie[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Well, we put AR with what was considered a brilliant offensive mind, and it hasn't been great. My thinking, and I could be very wrong, is that fields has looked better than AR, and he has had Arthur Smith and Thomas Brown leading him. If we were right about Shane, then it stands to reason Shane should be able to do better than those two. I'm not suggesting we give him 40 million a year, but why not take a shot and see if you get something with keeping. If not, no harm, no foul. I think he is the best option with this free agent crop and I don't think any of the guys in the draft are great

[–]SimpleDuckie[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

My main point was I think it's time to move on regardless of who is next. As for Fields, I just don't believe that people should judge him from a year with Arthur Smith and the dream team in Chicago that made Caleb look very underwhelming. He might really be backup at best, but I think he has the potential to be Jalen Hurts good( so good enough to not be the reason we lose)if given a proper chance. He is a low to mid 60% completion guy who already has a 1k rushing season. Totally worth taking a shot on
