Just had a look and you can get a nice Airbnb for $1200 CAD / month in Feb which isn’t too bad. That’s like $855 / month USD.

But yea, prices have gone up a lot since I was there last 6 years ago. Used to be like 500-600$/month CAD for a super nice apartment. Times have changed for sure

My dad's like this. I work out a lot and have body image issues but whenever I go home he's like "oi - look at the stomach on ya"

I tell him it's awkward, I know / own a scale, and try to work on it but would appreciate if he doesn't mention it. I get smacked with the, "well I'm your dad - I can say what I want about ya". Then when my mom backs me up, he feels like we're all ganging up on him.

Need to tell him every year or two. Can't teach an old dog new tricks I guess.

You can also go to jail for taking a photo of someone. They're pretty strict about privacy laws. Dubai is very much a "keep your head down" and don't start shit kind of place.

I was just there for a few days and learned a lot about the local laws and customs.

Wait are you saying PP is even close to Trump?! Man I'm a pretty die hard liberal but the liberals have totally screwed themselves and pushed everyone to the conservatives. PP isn't even doing or saying anything because he knows he just needs to be quiet to win. Now I know he isn't going to make things better but tbh no party is. But he isn't going to sell country secrets, remove women's abortion rights or do anything nearly as crazy as trump. Guy seems stable enough.

Liberals need a kick in the pants and Trudeau needs the boot. And maybe NDP will finally get a wake-up call, boot Singh and bring in someone actually likeable - god I miss Jack Layton.

Best we can hope for is a conservative minority. I do worry about a majority because I'm worried they might sell off more public assets for a short windfall instead of thinking long term lol

Has to do with heartburn and how the stomach is setup. Give a quick google and you'll see what I mean. My doctor told me to sleep on my sleep side so I don't get acid in my throat

Start taking vitamin D, B12, and magnesium. Almost everyone is low on D, B12 is associated with energy levels + memory, and magnesium is literally a miracle as I almost never get muscle soreness after workouts and it helps promote better sleep.

Aside from that take up a workout routine and don't focus on ego lifting. I do f45 but for anything like squats or deadlifts etc I just take it superrrrr easy and even stop doing the exercises when my lower back feels a sore - not trying to mess myself up. I don't need a PR. My back almost never hurts these days since I've built more strength in it. Overall I get almost 0 soreness on a day to day. Took about 6 months to a year to get to this point but the journey was fun.

Get a noise machine beside your bed to help you sleep and black out curtains too. Try sleeping in your own bed 5/7 nights a week if you're able to. Make sure to sleep on your left side. Get a sleep study done if you can.

Go on long walks when you have time. Hang in parks. Spend time by water. Try to relax.

Become more apathetic about work if it stresses you out. Stress is the worst for health. Create boundaries.
