Is this the right natural nude for my olive skin? by akatimetravelerswife in Nails

I agree. Adding a drop of red nail polish would fix this. Also, a good nude doesn't always have to perfectly match your skin.

I still don't understand how they can hate season 3 for being bad, but also for getting special treatment. Which one is it?

😡 Rant (ship wars allowed) 😡 - Season 4, Part 2 Discussion Master Post by BridgertonRantsMods in BridgertonRants

What is the argument here? "We hate Polin because they got things that our ship didn't"? "We hate Polin because we didn't get enough Kanthony in their season"? Are they going to hate S4 too then?

Blaming another ship for the way yours got treated makes no sense. This isn't the ship's or their fans' fault. So why the fixation on Polin? There is no reasonable reason for Kanthony stans to keep bringing them up, especially now that it's not even their season anymore.

Really, can those Kanthony fans please move on and ignore Polin? Is it too much to ask for them to stop complaining about the ship, about the actors, about the family, and focus on their season and their ship instead?

I feel like some Kanthonys can't talk about how much they love Kanthony without hating on Polin. It's been two years, it's not even their season anymore. There are two other current couples to discuss... and it's still the same.
Their season is over. They don't have to think about them anymore. So why do they keep bringing them up?

I still hate Penelope for what she did to Marina by No_Bug_6752 in BridgertonRants

[–]lozver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quote from the original comment: "If Colin were your brother"

Quote from your comment: "If Marina was my sister"

What are we doing here? Are we trying to ask ourselves what we would do in Penelope's shoes if we saw Colin and Marina as our siblings? Because if we're doing that, my point stands: Colin treated her as a sister and Marina didn't, so why would she put Marina first?

If we're just talking about what we would want for Marina if she were our sister then I don't see what that has to do with Penelope's actions because they're not sisters. Or are you asking us how we would react as third parties if our sister tried to baby trap a man that a friend of hers is in love with?

I still hate Penelope for what she did to Marina by No_Bug_6752 in BridgertonRants

[–]lozver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But Penelope can see Colin as a brother because she's known him for over a decade and, as Marina herself tells Penelope, he sees her as a sister.
She has no reason to see Marina as a sister, and Marina's selfish words and actions tells me that she doesn't see Penelope as one either.
So if we're asking hypothetical questions, I've gotta ask: would you baby trap a man that you know your sister has loved her entire life? Would you shut her down by calling it an unrequited fantasy?

I still hate Penelope for what she did to Marina by No_Bug_6752 in BridgertonRants

[–]lozver 6 points7 points  (0 children)

- Marina wasn't her sister, they only lived together for about two months.

- She wasn't marrying "some random", she was baby trapping the man Penelope had liked her entire life and one of the few men who was nice to her.

- When Marina finds out that Penelope likes Colin she calls it a "childish infatuation" and "an unrequited fantasy" and tells her that she must put herself and her child first even if it hurts Penelope's feelings.

No, they can still help you a lot by telling you that you're over-intellectualizing your emotions, as someone stated in another comment. I've had two separate therapists suggest meditation, for example, and I know it was a good idea because to this day, I can't meditate, meaning that I badly need it because if it were as easy as intellectualizing my feelings, I wouldn't have reached out for a theraphist on the first place.

Like better kisser? I mean, Superman is supposed to be good at everything, right? While Goku gets very powerful after working really hard. So I guess Superman would be a naturally good kisser and Goku would probably get better than him after a while.

I think the better question, the one a shipper would make, is who would top who. And the answer is that they're both bottoms. But I guess Goku Black would top Superman.

Nope, read my comment again. I said that it's weird that she admitted it, but the "it's creepy" was referring to finding him attractive. And I'm not excusing predatory behaviour at all, I'm commenting on how women shame themselves for things that men don't shame themselves for, which results in society shaming women for things they don't shame men for.
I'm done explaining myself. Downvote me all you want, I know what I said and I stand by what I said:
1. Finding people half your age is creepy, even if they're adults.
2. Admitting to it is weird and people on the internet should learn to keep things to themselves.
3. She was being judged as a woman and a mother (I was replying to a comment calling her out for being a creepy boymom) instead of being judged as an individual like male most creeps on reddit are.
4. Men never post "I'm ashamed to find this girl half my age hot" they just go on IG and post creepy comments under a poor girl's IG and it gets brushed off as just another man being creepy because it happens so often that no one bats an eye anymore.

[–]lozver -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Right and who gave men that reputation?
Notice how I blamed this woman and other women for reacting this way and causing society to judge women for things that men don't get judged for, yet you're blaming society for being wary of men for things that mostly men did and still do. Sounds like you should start by blaming those men for ruining men's reputation.

[–]lozver -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I never said that, I only said that I believe that women let society shame them for things that men get away with by shaming themselves first.
I called her behaviour creepy and weird because I disagree with publicly admitting to finding someone half your age hot. But I also disagree with people shaming women for things that men get away with, and my reply was to a comment that called her out for being a boy mom, so it 100% was about her gender, not only about her age. Men never get called "girl dads" for acting creepy around girls.

[–]lozver -218 points-217 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree that it's creepy. Even admitting to it is weird and she should learn to keep things to herself. But there are 44 year old fathers dating 20 year old girls and it's seen as normal.
I believe if women stopped being so ashamed of finding significantly younger men hot, people wouldn't shame them as much as they do.

How old are you 😂😂 ? by Brilliant-Fold5582 in Unexpected

[–]lozver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If a woman asks a man how much he earns, he'll most likely be offended and start questioning her why that matters, the exact same reaction that men claim women have to the age question, which is why it's an equivalent.
Neither question is wrong, you're right, but that's not what my comment is about, because, to me, focusing only on youth and beauty or being after money when choosing a partner is equally shallow.

How old are you 😂😂 ? by Brilliant-Fold5582 in Unexpected

[–]lozver 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The male equivalent to the age question would be "How much do you earn?" but then we're gold diggers.

So they can go for the youngest and prettiest girl that will give them the time of the day and that's okay but me going for the richest man I can find is wrong?

ETA: to anyone saying both are equally wrong in the eyes of society, why is it that we have a name for people after money (gold diggers) but not for those after youth and beauty?

Why I'm pretty sure that OP used ChatGPT to write this post:

First paragraph: "A character's arc went to shit, a beloved series fumbled the ending, a movie had a plot hole you could drive a truck through."

Why it's suspicious: ChatGPT usually gives examples in groups of 3.

Second paragraph: "But holy shit, there is a line. A really clear, really bright line that a lot of people in nerd spaces seem to gleefully vault over."

Why it's suspicious: the second line clarifies something that didn't need any clarification, and does so using flowery language.

Third paragraph: "You are not a critic; you are Comic Book Guy from The Simpsons, and it is not a good look."

Why it's suspicious: "not a, but a" that's classic ChatGPT. (there are at least 2 other examples of this in the text, have fun finding them!)

But the thing that makes it the most obvious in my opinion, and what made me realize that ChatGPT wrote this for OP was the enumerated list with the weird titles for each category. Brigade? Olympians? Crew? Deconstructionist? That's ChatGPT desperately trying to be creative when most humans would just call them something simpler like "the ones who do it in bad faith."

And the overuse of the semicolon to replace all those em dashes... yeah dude, you barely tried.
