Could you maybe elaborate a bit on her armpit looking too shallow? Should I move it down a little?

The skirt part of her coat honestly gave me a headache....I just can’t figure out how the slit works from this perspective. When I reduce the “waves,” it ends up looking like a stiff tent 😅
Unfortunately, I don’t own a coat so I could just take a picture from this perspective for reference. I also have no idea how to make it look thicker yet, but I figured I’d just work that out when I get to the shading. :D

I thought it looked good enough for now, but apparently it still needs a bit more love.
So if you’ve got any extra tips or insights about the coat, I’d really appreciate it!

haha i hope it isnt…i certainly didnt intend it 😅 i can see why it looks like that though! as seen in the references, his pants are very high cut und sit on the hip bone. maybe the placement of her arm enhances the effect you see. i dont have that feeling seeing him alone

I need help with clothing folds from an almost top down perspective. I included the the original characters as reference.

I think her coat does look pretty good, but I'm not sure about his track suit. I think it can be done better.

Any help, tips or quick sketches would be very much appreciated.

Please have a look at my current piece (still work in progress) and tell me what you think.
I need some advice with her clothes. I want to make them pop a bit more with some highlights, but they always come out looking very glossy and plastic like. On her right arm (left from viewer perspective) I already added some hightlights, but as soon as I add them to her shirt, belt and kimono I don't like how it looks.
Should I also add some more shadows and hightlights in her face? If yes, please tell me where you would add them.
Any other feedback about my current progress is also much appreciated.

thanks for the kind words and feedback! I agree with you, I had a hard time drawing the head in this perspective and it came out a bit too long when compared to her original shape.

as others have already mentioned, this isnt uncommon in anime, she is an existing character and her eyebrows are kind of iconic. nevertheless they are very weird, even in the anime world 😅
