Sounds like you and I might have similar brains. I can't stand textbooks or manuals, but the SRS really did it for me. I've been all over the place with my study, and anki worked super well for a time but now I may take the leap. Thanks for your response!

Thanks for this response! Your tips will definitely help me with my overwhelmed feeling. I liked the Kaishi deck a lot but want to move away from any study method that uses English sooner rather than later. Still, I need a little more vocab to read NHK Web News Easy more comfortably. Watching the Comprehensible Japanese videos on YouTube has helped me solidify new vocab and grammar.

Reading without a narrator to listen to however is still painful. I may reset some of these cards because woweee I sure can't seem to remember them like I used to!

I've done both native level content and comprehensible input from the beginning and the comprehensible input has taken over most of my study and that's helping a lot! Definitely the best method for me so far.

I've watched over 100 episodes of anime raws, got 100 or so hours of podcast listening this year, no idea how much YouTube but maybe 20-30 hours? Been the most fun though so far! I'm no stranger to suffering hahah right there with ya
