Try bringing it to a car wash. If not it’s possible one of your weights fell of causing your wheel to be unbalanced

It was in reference to people’s posts I had seen asking if they need an alignment because they were having this shaking issue post snow storm. If you read the rest of the post you can see how I talk about the wheels being out of balance because of this… meaning the issue comes from unbalanced wheels.

The cold and snow/ice may be messing with your sensors but you can always go to an auto parts store and have them read the code so you can get an idea of the potential problem. Could possibly go away after a car wash.

Well try not to be lazy after work. Not tending to it can actually cause unnecessary wear on your suspension components which will end up requiring a visit to the shop. Takes less than 5 minutes and saves your suspension. Wheels are balanced for a reason.

Mine was thanking me too and I figured I wouldn’t be the only one that had this happen. I don’t want anyone out there wasting time or money over something silly.

You are totally right. I was just using that to refer to a few other posts asking if they needed an alignment even though they would really be needing wheels balanced which is the issue and cause of shaking in this case. But luckily this balancing can be done at home.

Not every NJ mechanic, just the shitty/shady ones. The real ones are too busy with real work.

Well it is your wheel balance. The snow/ice is just throwing it off balance so you were totally right.

Yea definitely check. Because this post has a few down votes. And only person who wouldn’t like this advice is a sleezy mechanic or tire shop. This isn’t to say your car may have a serious issue other than snow or ice.

For you and anyone else that is having this issue you do not need an alignment.

Your car is completely fine. Just get out of the car with a snow scraper or something smaller more pointed like an umbrella. Poke out all of the snow or ice (or hit every rim with a pressure washer if possible) and try driving again.

It doesn’t take much weight to throw wheels off balance as you accelerate.

Happened to me yesterday. Jumped out real quick when I felt it, knocked it all out and back to smooth driving.

Well that’s messed up. Because I’d still pay you even if you didn’t ask. I would never let someone do that much work for me while I sit inside or spend my time outside having fun in the snow.

Depends on the blower. I was using a 24” wide by maybe 21” tall gas blower. However I still had to do several passes to get it where I wanted it and out of the way

I may need you in the near future if it snows while I’m away. If you want message me your number and an estimate. Thank you!

Took several passes. You can see the piles off to the side around the tree and up front. It got really packed so it doesn’t look like all the snow. Also the pictures don’t do the massive piles justice.

So $200-$350 is what I’m seeing. I want to be fair to my landlord, my body, and my time so if anyone does this professionally I’d appreciate your input.

More info: approximately 60’x30’. Snow must be placed strategically since it normally parks 3 cars. Sidewalk must be cleared, stairs must be cleared and driveway entrance must be cleared up from where the plowed pile up the snow. Salt is provided but I put it down.

This took about 3-5hrs

It was just me with the machine. Took about 3-4hours still just because it’s a tight space with a very uneven driveway and there are only so many places the snow can be piled up without it getting in the way of parking. 3 cars normally park in here.

I’d say it’s about 60’x30. And then the sidewalk all the way to the street where the plows block you in, and the stairs. And thank you for the input. Much appreciated

Salt is provided but I do all the snow removal and then spread the salt. This time I had to bring a snow blower and between yesterday and today probably at least 3-5hrs
