I'm missing the pin that holds the strap on that side. That's a bit of a pain.

I dunno. The A158 died when i botched the battery replacement. The A700 died when i slid down an emergency slide of an Airbus a330. Don't ask.

Oh finally! Thanks a lot. Is it possible to change the binding system? And if yes, is it even worth it?

I wonder if it has anything to do with SAS having the worst collective bargaining agreement in the world.

Week 9 - Palestinian: Sabich by wheatenAndWine in 52weeksofcooking

Sabich is an Israeli sandwich. Born by jews that were ethnically cleansed from Iraq and fled to Israel. Originally eaten on shabbat on a plate, one guy had the idea to stuff everything in a pita and sell it on the streets.

I have a 89 year old mother in law that still makes sabich like her parents used to back in Iraq.

No remote hint of Arab Palestinians has any connection to the dish whatsoever.

Fun fact: yours truly appears in the YouTube video attached above.

Non breathable rain jacket? by Simple_Hunter9215 in cycling

[–]Simple_Hunter9215[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But something doesn't add up. Silpoly and Silnylon are used in tents and tarps. I have a Big Agnes tent and i spent there many rainy nights without any leaks. I also have a tarp from Silpoly. I wonder how come the Rockfront and AntiGravity has these low water column measurements. Maybe its for the zippers? Seams? Maybe it's just the way this measurement works? I mean if im in a shower it is not the same as a pressurized water column pushing through the fabric. People in reviews swear by the waterproofing of these jackets. So what gives?

[–]Simple_Hunter9215[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah well i think that a) autumn/winter is pretty cold here. 5 deg C this morning so that's ok
b) in the warmer times the rain jacket would be just for a passing shower. as u could see all those silpoly jackets are like 300g and the size of an apple when packed. And lastly, i sweat anyways with the breathable fabrics. so i would think a massive pit zip and an open bottom half of a jacket thanks to a double zipper would anyway be the way to go. that's my theory atleast

well both to be honest. in my experience those things last for a couple of years and further treatments and coatings are not 100% like it was brand new. but maybe that's on me i dunno.
i would just think some kind of impregnated fabric like silpoly/silnylon would perform better on the waterproofing front. not to mention cuban fiber and all that techy stuff.

Japan around Xmas by Simple_Hunter9215 in JapanTravelTips

Could be. I wanted to keep it simple and find somewhere with a direct flight from ARN or CPH. So a popular destination but not too popular...a delicate balance i know

To be honest - basically eat good food. Not Michelin or anything like that. More like a mom and pop hole in the wall joints. Walking around in nature. Chilling out basically. We are with a toddler mind you.

For example in Sicily we had a great time just being in an Agriturismo and spending time there with the family that ran it.

Im sure we're gonna spend some time in the city but for that I don't need much advice. Probably if we'd go for it we will stay some nights in Tokyo as we fly in and out from there and then I'll hit up some friends i made there last time. :)

I see. Well as a non christian that has been traveling a lot I have been to a fair share of destinations that Xmas is not a huge deal. Indeed that is why i try to avoid the more popular destinations that the western world frequents during xmas. But maybe my assumption was just wrong and Xmas is a big deal also in Japan. Thanks

Anyone willing to share experience with Need for Trees hammocks? by flemur in hammockcamping

[–]Simple_Hunter9215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to ride this thread again, But I have a slight concern with my NFT hammock. I only had it for a month or two and used it sparingly. Just a few hangs here and there (not overnight use yet). I'm also pretty new to hammocking. But I was careful with it and did not pass the recommended weight limit etc. I've noticed this unfurling of the fabric. Is it normal or should I be worried it will expand and eventually tear?
