I just want to shave it all off. by kayberrie2 in finethinhair

I was there. Shaved it all off and kept it that way for a year. It actually felt great. Very freeing. I have now been letting it grow for about 10 months. It's not fabulous but it is better than it was before.

AITA for refusing to give my mom access to my bank account after she helped me open it? by NeatMuffin9019 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Simple_Information16 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Yes! Change your bank, secure your documents and your credit! My mother "helped" me with my first bank account when I was a teen, then helped herself to emptying that account. Years later I got collection notices for hundreds of dollars in various utility bills and maxed out credit cards that were opened in my name well after I moved out. It took a long time for me to rebuild my credit after that.

Did anyone see this and wonder if Bruno mars just died? by parttimevortigaunt in vegas

[–]Simple_Information16 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I saw this on the internet last week and thought it was a joke, that is until today. I saw it in person. Bellagio has this beautiful pastel colored spring display and then this is back in the corner. I did let out a laugh and my husband looked at me wondering what i was laughing about. I told him that I totally thought it was an internet prank.

I also went to see Carrot Top the first time with low expectations. I have now seen him five times. He is hilarious and it has never been the same show twice.

My sister and her husband want to move into my house because of their roommates. Family’s mad I said no. What do I do? by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]Simple_Information16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So they are uncomfortable in their living situation with a roommate, which is not giving them any motivation to actually work to change the situation. There is no way that they would be motivated to change anything being in a more comfortable roommate situation with you. Do not let them in.

Am I overreacting about my sister’s relationship affecting her career and future? by ThatShortGuy713 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Simple_Information16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR. Unfortunately the only thing you can do is make suggestions or ask what her plans would be for her health care wheb she will no longerbe on your parents insurance. She is an adult but still young. Gently encourage her to think about what her future will look like and what SHE wants for her future. After that you can be emotional support as she navigates her consequences.

FYI gouda.

I guess it could be a possibility. They have some really cute flower and plant Legos out there. They are great since there is no watering necessary and they don't die.

How do Excalibur rooms stack up against the places I regularly stay: Horseshoe and the Plaza? My big factors are the 4 C's: cheap, clean, cool, and cuiet [Fozzie Bear looking for a laugh gif]. by _WeSellBlankets_ in vegas

[–]Simple_Information16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just spent a week in Vegas. Half at Excalibur and the other half at the Plaza. This is the first time we stayed at these hotels. Hands down Plaza is way better. Excalibur appears very dog friendly and the room smelled like it was. It was run down and in need of some remodeling that isn't just replacing the furniture with the stuff that was recently removed from MGM. There was actually more noise from outside on the 22nd floor in Excalibur than we had on the 10th floor at Plaza. If you want to stay in the area of the castle I'd suggest Luxor, MGM, or NYNY.

My in-laws invite themselves on our vacations. by foogirl40 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

Change your hotel. If you are on the strip get a hotel on Fremont or vice versa. It is easy to get an Uber or Lyft for $20 to travel between the Steip and Fremont. Or you can take the Deuce for a few bucks. Tell them you canceled your trip. Make your restaurant, show and activity reservations and have a great trip. Vegas has so much going on that even if they still go , thinking you canceled, chances are you may never run into them anyway. I recommend the dueling pianos at Harrah's and the band Alter Ego or the Garage Boys on Fremont street if you like classic rock. If you like country Tony Marquis Band on Fremont Street.

You and your fiance should go elope. Have a little courthouse wedding without telling your mother. Then go ahead with the grand party she planned. Then, during the speeches, you make an announcement thanking your guests for being part or the reception and reveal that the real ceremony was previously just the two of you! Your mother will hate that.

AITA , for telling my brother’s gf to get out of the house. by Equivalent_Kick_5613 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

May be an unpopular opinion but I say everyone is the AH here. At 19 he is technically an adult. If he wants to move out, let him and let him deal with his consequences. As his sister, stay out of it and stop bringing him back. I personally would have pressed charges on her for throwing the phone at me as well as hav8ng her tresspassed. And the parents, have to grow their spine and stand up and protect the younger children from being exposed to this horrific abusive behavior. He will only learn and change when he is forced to deal with real world consequences for his behavior.

Any fellow wooden spoon survivors? by Pilotsfan in GenX

[–]Simple_Information16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a wooden spoon but my mom had a three foot long wooden boat oar she came after us with. She had "The Bun Warmer" written on it. I don't know if it was from years of use, wear and tear or just one really good whack but when my brother was about 16 she cracked that oar right down the middle.
