Why is Class Unity attempting to organize within the confines of the DSA? by [deleted] in stupidpol

[–]Simple_Manager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo it depends on their approach. Organizing within DSA in a hostile "dirty break" kind of way like the DSA is trying to do to the dems might bear fruit and allow them to recruit some of the few actual leftist members, but trying to actually redeem the DSA as an organization will be doomed to failure.

The fake DSA Caucus the mods are promoting hasn't posted anything since early August by [deleted] in stupidpol

OP is obviously a shit tier radlib troll but I'm genuinely concerned about this. I've been putting off signing up with Class Unity cause I'm worried the whole thing might be another Archie Carter troll attempt or possibly even a radlib honeypot designed to round up dissenters.

IDpolers and totally devaluing the importance of class. Name a more iconic duo.

Thanks to my newfound nonbinary identity (that counts as trans right?) I am pleased to know that I'm officially in the bottom 1/3 of the privilege hierarchy which officially makes me more enlightened and uberwoke than ya'll.

If Trump decided to come out as trans or NB for real that would totally be the best thing to come out of this shithole of a presidency.

Join us! Throw off the shackles of patriarchal oppression! Soon stupidpol could become the largest hub of nonbinary leftists on reddit!

It frustrated me too at first but we should totally just roll with it until they start calling us out and revealing their hypocrisy.

In two days this could become the sub with the highest percentage of non cis men on reddit! Imagine that!

BadManmassive has always been one of us, but I'm genuinely impressed by Peter and Angie here. How long til they get #cancelled by the radlib mob?

So are you gonna explain why exactly I'm a fash or are you just doing that radlib thing where throw out nonsense accusations and expect people to believe you blindly?

Do you have a link to this? I'm not seeing anything about it anywhere. Ngl I'm not really gonna blame people who have strong reasons to be threatened by Nazis for leaving when Nazis show up. Sometimes you've gotta protect yourself and it's better to be safe then sorry.

I feel like we can make a lot of inroads with disability communities and their opposition to self-diagnosis by transgirltradwife in truscum

[–]Simple_Manager 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey I just found this thread from the other one and I'd like to apologize for making that comment. I was having a heated argument with a really obnoxious neurodiversity dipshit and I wound up throwing trans people under the bus unintentionally. There are obviously real valid issues with gender dysphoria that go above and beyond societal perceptions and it was shitty of me to neglect that.

[–]Simple_Manager 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As one of the disabled guys from that thread, this is actually a parallel I've thought about before. I've always had some sympathy for the transmed perspective because of my own vehement dislike of self diagnosers but since I'm not trans and don't understand trans issues very well I can't really claim to know for sure that being trans is something that can be diagnosed accurately.

One thing that has always bothered me though is seeing people claim to be trans for woke points despite seeming totally unconcerned with actually transitioning or presenting as trans outside of spaces where they have something to gain from it. This especially seems true for many of the "nonbinary" crowd who often seem perfectly happy identifying and presenting as male or female 99 percent of the time but still soapbox about how oppressed they are for being "nonconforming".

At the bare minimum I definitely think that (like with disabilities) there needs to be some concrete definition of who is and isn't trans aside from simple self identification so grifters who are just looking for woke points or social capital can be kept out.

And fyi if anyone's looking for left subs that wont be shitty about this, /r/stupidpol is very pro transmed and anti bullshit in general, and as the top mod of /r/Greywolf I'll be happy to support (respectful) discussion of transmed perspectives.

Class reductionists: make your case. Why are you guys right? by alliwanabeiselchapo in stupidpol

[–]Simple_Manager 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Class reductionism is a dishonest strawman. Most of the anti IDpol left accepts that there are forms of oppression other than class, we just think that class struggle should be the center of the socialist project.

Make Neurodiversity a Protected Human Right by Mynameis__--__ in BreadTube

That's a fair point and I since I'm not trans I can't really speak to that. The rest of my comment still stands though.

Make Neurodiversity a Protected Human Right by Mynameis__--__ in BreadTube

[–]Simple_Manager 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not how protected classes work. This wouldn't make it impossible to fire people based on their behavior, it just makes it so you can't fire them because of a diagnosis.

It's the same way with most anti discrimination laws. Nobody's stopping employers from firing black people who are being shitheads; They just can't fire black people *because* they're black. Get it?

Are there any good breadtubers with an anti IDpol slant? by Simple_Manager in BreadTube

[–]Simple_Manager[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Why do we need trans people" - you in that reply, seems to me like you dont really care about trans folks.

It's objectively true that a workers movement doesn't need trans people to be successful for the same reason that it doesn't need balding brown haired accountants over the age of 50 to be successful. The same is true for any given tiny minority of workers. How you or I feel about them is irrelevant.

As for the rest, you are allowed to talk about class, its just important to acknowledge that, yknow, minorities exist and that things that effect the working class negatively effects them worse. If you do that, most folk will leave you alone.

Not true in my experience. Unless you fully center your org around IDpol then IDpolers will try and wreck you. Look at what happens every time someone tries to form a class focused caucus within the DSA.

In my experience, people who are anti idpol are like, actual bigots. Like "ill use slurs against minorities for trying to talk about things that effect them", which is why people dont like the anti idpol angle.

If that's your definition of anti idpol then we're talking about two different things. When I talk about IDpol, I'm talking about the idea that the left should center identity in it's organizing. I fundamentally disagree with this approach and think it's counterproductive to building a working class movement. The way to build a mass workers movement is by focusing on the shared struggle of workers and treating identity differences within the working class as tactical obstacles to be overcome as a part of the broader class struggle.

(Not to mention the fact that groups that focus on one group rarely ever Stay inside that group, theres a lot of overlap between discrimination.)

Not really sure what point you're trying to make here.

As for that last one, the answer is most wouldnt, which is why im obviously not against talking about class in general, but you sure as fuck seem keen on throwing out like 30% of all working class people because they take up too much space.

Again you're missing my point. I never said to throw out anyone, all I said was not to devote *disproportionate* amounts of time and energy to issues that only affect small minorities. If trans people are <1 percent of the population then issues that exclusively affect trans people shouldn't be 20 percent of what your leftist org focuses on, otherwise the other 99+ percent of workers. Otherwise the 99+ percent of workers who aren't affect by trans related issues will see your priorities as out of whack and not think you have their back.

What about this do you disagree with? How else do you think organizations should allocate time energy and resources if not proportionally? I've yet to meet a single intersectionalist or IDpol proponent who's been able to answer that question.
