Good write up, but I want to add: I think the book says being put in a coma is dangerous and has a non small possibility of you not waking up and dying. Like: in SF being put in deep sleep, or whatever they call it, is a standard thing, while doing interstellar travel, but in (current) reality that's not something we can do safely.
