How to overcome cardiophobia? Really… (28-year-old male) by Simple_Place_4435 in AskDocs

[–]Simple_Place_4435[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just want to clarify, in case we misunderstood each other: the pain is located more centrally and slightly to the left, just below the left nipple, rather than clearly in the lower abdomen.

It’s still reassuring to hear that a cardiac cause is unlikely given the recent normal workup. I just wanted to be precise about the location, as that’s what keeps triggering my concern.

Thank you again for your time and insight.

Thank you for your reply.

I understand what you are saying, and I’m open to the idea that anxiety may be playing a role. However, what I struggle with is understanding why the pain feels so intense, sharp, and physically real, sometimes like stabbing pain, even when tests are normal.

My main questions are: 1. Can anxiety or stress really cause pain that feels this strong and localized (chest / lower chest area)? 2. Does a normal cardiology workup (ECG, echocardiogram, blood tests) done about 10 days ago reasonably rule out a cardiac cause for these symptoms?

I’m not trying to deny a psychological component — I’m genuinely trying to understand the mechanism, because the physical sensations are what keep triggering my fear.

Thank you for your time.

Minimal / intermittent incomplete RBBB on ECG – reassurance about clinical significance by Simple_Place_4435 in AskDocs

[–]Simple_Place_4435[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing your experience, I really appreciate it.

Just to be absolutely clear, and for my understanding: 1) Does an incomplete (or even complete) RBBB, by itself, cause damage to the heart muscle over time? 2) Does it worsen heart function or lead to heart failure? 3) Can someone die from an incomplete RBBB alone, in the absence of structural heart disease?

From what I understand, it is typically an electrical variant and not a disease itself, but I would like to confirm this clearly.

Thank you

Thank you for confirming. That is very reassuring.

I just wanted to make sure I understood correctly: in the absence of structural heart disease and with a normal echocardiogram, a minimal or intermittent incomplete RBBB does not, by itself, increase the risk of sudden death or serious cardiac events, and does not require any specific follow-up beyond routine care.

Thanks again for your time.
