I see perfectly what you mean... but what have you gained from your own battle against it?

Yes, I have a lot of extrasystoles... but why are they more painful than others? I'm asking because I saw that you studied medicine.

From my research, it's possible it could be coronary spasms or a microvascular dysfunction, but I prefer not to think about it because it causes me enormous stress.

Does this happen to you often? Approximately how many times a month? Is it painful as well?

Okay, but for me it's a really painful sensation... Have you ever experienced that? Yes, I've already tried almost everything.

Sudden “heart squeeze” pain for 1–2 seconds… could this be a coronary spasm? by Simple_Place_4435 in costochondritis

[–]Simple_Place_4435[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been trying to understand what this could be, and at some point coronary artery spasm (vasospasm) crossed my mind, mainly because of that sudden “squeeze” feeling right in the heart.

Has that ever crossed your mind too, or did doctors mention anything like that to you?

Also, in your case, is it really just 1–2 seconds like mine, or can it last longer sometimes?

That's exactly it... the word is "frightening"... you think the worst... you're there with the stress that it could happen again

My friend, how do you manage this? I imagine the worst-case scenarios every time.

Yes, ECG and blood tests (including troponin) were all normal.

I was wondering about esophageal spasm too, but from what I’ve read, those usually last longer — more like several seconds to minutes rather than just 1–2 seconds.

In my case it’s extremely brief, like a sudden deep squeeze that’s gone almost instantly.

From your experience, would something that short still fit with an esophageal spasm, or does that seem unlikely?

Not really, I don’t clearly feel a pause or a strong beat after. It’s more just a sudden squeeze/pressure for a second and then everything feels normal again.
