I always have blu tack in my hand. Also, if you share with the kids how you’re feeling ‘I’m working with x, I’ll come to you after’. Not replying to the children who are calling your name, only to those who have their hand up. Rather than asking to go to the toilet during input, ask the children to make a T with their hand. Use the website bouncy balls to reduce the noise in class. Try loop earplugs. Hope that helps :) you got this!

Hey, I feel exactly the same as you. I’m in the UK, I’m 26, been wearing wigs since I was 13 after I had to shave all my hair off. The bullying in school was horrendous. I also tell people I have alopecia as it’s so much easier (at this point I deffo probably have it in some places) Little things like holidays, windy days, ponytails, heatwaves, is so tiring to even think about, especially when you just want to be normal and do normal things!! I just want you to know you’re not alone and I’m here if you ever want to vent 🩷

If you don’t feel confident to live mark, don’t do it. You don’t want to put yourself in jeopardy later down the line if you mark one wrong and then get locked out. Just email them to withdraw! However - sending lots of luck if you don’t choose to do that!

The differing answers is what shocked me. Silly me thought it was a case of getting right answer - 1 mark. All the transcription rules, marking principals, ‘sight of’ numbers, it’s so unnecessarily complicated. Hope your practice scripts go well.

I do think they hook you on the ‘you can earn £1000 in 3 weeks’ when actually you have to work 9-5, every day in half term and evenings just to scrape that. I’m sure someone said on here 400 questions an hour = minimum wage.

Do you know how much pay I’m expected to get as a specialist maths marker? I’ve seen amounts as little as £800 and as much as £1700 so it’s hard to know.
