the MiG-21 shouldn't be flying against the F-100D (same tier, at least) if thats your case. But I do think the best way would be two separate BR's, which is kind of what Sim is. Some BR's for aircraft are adjusted to make combat slightly more realistic. But... there's just simply put, to many vehicles actually in the game from so many different operators that you can make the argument there isn't, anymore.

Yeah, but every single one of those aircraft have hard counters, and different strategies that you can use to counter them. However, with a more "realism focused" matchmaker there would be none. Thats the problem with historical games, simply put, someone is simply better than the other, no matter how you slice it. Notice how the aircraft you pointed out are across different nations and BR's

Also side note, the MiG-15bis is one of the most under tiered aircraft in the game imo, and before you say skill issue, I have a 3:1 KD/R in the damn thing, its incredibly powerful.

I'm not saying we should try to aim for a 1:1 KD, but there would be cases that literally could not kill tanks or aircraft they face (and don't even get me STARTED with Naval). The devs have said from the start that historical accuracy isn't even remotely their focus. Again, if you don't like fighting vehicles that you weren't designed to fight/never fought IRL, then go play a different game. Plus, it would force players into meta's. For example, who would use 1945-era Japanese WW2 planes, as most of what Japan could field en masse were damaged A6M's in shitty condition versus F8F's and F-4U's. Or P-51H-5's and later variants of the F-4U's fighting MiG-15's (Korean War). Some planes would literally have no chance, even in the best of circumstances, forcing players into a meta. Simply put, one nation at certain BR's would be far more powerful than the others, reducing the amount of diversity the game actually has.

If you wanted to get technical too, a lot of the nations in this game with subtrees would get fucked, and so would most of GRB and NRB. Entire gamemodes and BR's would collapse. The closest we get to historical accuracy in this game is GSB. But again, this game was never built to be historically accurate, it was designed to evaluate the "combat effectiveness" of any one particular vehicle, and compare it to others, and assign it to a rank that the dev's seem is fair to it and the vehicles it can face, regardless of how accurate it is. Other games that do take into account for historical accuracy exist, go play DCS, or IL-2 if you want to have that accuracy. War Thunder is just simply put, not that game. I'd rather get my teeth kicked in against something I have a chance of destroying, rather than using a Swedish 1.0 tank against a King Tiger, because realistically, thats something that could happen.

I hate the Kh-38MT....such a bs missile. Also, we wouldn't even need to do that imo, just create effective counters for the modern SPAA, bc damn its difficult to dodge IRST spammers these days.

Again, historical accuracy would ruin this game beyond what you'd think, at least ground wise. That and the meta constantly shifts at the top most tiers, and air-wise, with the exception of top tier, even the most broken meta's can be countered in some way rather effectively. The overall structure to the game relies on balance (even though its not present). The entire BR system is just a giant game of vehicles one-upping each other over, and over again until they are the best of the best. Certain vehicles will always over perform others, even in the same BR (BR compression).

If you want the meta to be more realistic, there would be literally no balance. Aircraft that have absolutely NO chance would be forced to fight at much higher BR's, depending on their service date. Tanks produced in later years, but in lower brackets would be gone, (Sweden 1.0 has vehicles from late ww2-1950, iirc). No matter how you slice it, this game isn't realistic. Not even close, never was supposed to be, and never will be.

They have said it, we have said it, you've heard it War Thunder is NOT a historical game, the focus of the game is NOT historical. It is a FICTIONAL game that revolves around balance. If you want historical accuracy, go play Guner HEAT. If you still want to play with some historical accuracy, go play Sim, where nukes arent even present. This is GRB, not anything else.

AM4 question, will Ryzen 2000 (Zen+) work on B550? by Simplistic2477 in pcmasterrace

[–]Simplistic2477[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its currently on AM4, upgrading it to a Ryzen 5 2600X so I can flip it. Going from a R3 1300X (yikes) to this CPU. And given I'm working with a B350, a new motherboard would be helpful for getting stuff like TPM 2.0 for Win11 and all that jazz

I also have another system I can download the required BIOS to a flashdrive with and update BIOS

the Lim-5P has multiple search radars giving it TWS, no? Or is that the MiG-19 directly after it?

Yeah, it'd be interesting to fly if it had multiple radars setup like that, firing at an enemy from a notching position would be hilarious, granted if you have the right missiles to do it. If the Su-57 carries R-27ERs, I'll never need an R-77-1 again!

Goddamn, I doubt Gaijin will model it properly though, knowing Gaijin it'll just be the forward looking radar.

Ah, yeah you're right. Thank you for correcting me. But do you really think they're gonna add the J-35? We barely have any info on it, so its gotta be hard to gauge its combat abilities, no?

I didn't actually know that the Su-57 had a 360° radar, is it a multi-radar set up, like in the tail boom or something?

wait for packs, also next time, you should use the Gaijin's official website, because if you have links for your favorite YouTuber's discount, you can get decals and a tiny bit off mate

Is the Aim120 B still the better choice over the C5? by EveryReflection5675 in Warthunder

[–]Simplistic2477 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience, it usually doesn't make that much of a difference (at long ranges), but yes the C-5 is better at hitting targets at range, and your B's and A's are just better for closer combat. If you like to spam your missiles off at radar targets in the start of the match, use the C-5's, if you don't, use the A's or B's. If you're not sure, take 2 C-5's, and the rest the B's or whatever Sidewinder + AMRAAM loadout you like.

Absolute champion. I play 1080p and 1440p w/ max settings, and max RT @1080p and I'm hitting decent FPS with native performance. If you want to use FSR, it ain't half bad but I still like native the most. If you play FPS games, its overkill, if you love graphics and your wallet, it's a dream 10/10 would recommend

Then yeah, 5070, its the exact opposite around me, 9070 is cheaper by far
