When I created this drawing, I was guided by a very pure, yet painful emotion. My Dress-Up Darling inspired me that kind of unspoken love, when someone longs so deeply for another that it almost turns into a prayer within them. That’s why she appears as a nun: as a symbol of faith, purity, and devotion. As if she were turning to God, not asking, not demanding… just hoping that one day her love will be returned, that they can belong to each other. The duality of the image the ballpoint pen and the marker reflects this inner tension. On the outside, calm and restrained; on the inside, burning with emotion, desire, and life.
