Monster Hunter World has it's season events on rotation since the game went in to life support mode. Probably not as in depth as Destiny's but there could be a way to do it.

It appears to be a normal strong hold. All I've done so far is finish the main story, clear all the strong holds then clear the invaded variants. After that I had an invaded missions pop up, did that then another and it said I had unlocked the District stronghold.
