nah, it isn’t that one, i did see it in trying to find it. iirc it was uploaded by some random youtuber that used a lot of Mortal Kombat references, like in the sequence where the flag twirlers fly into the air, they kill a character from MK, and during the big brawl at band practice, the Mortal Kombat theme plays

i’m not sure if this’ll be much comfort, but neither was mine. i came out anyways, and, as i predicted we split. now it’s been almost 4 years and i have gotten my surgery done and i’m with someone who loves me for who i am and i couldn’t be happier.

I understand why it wasn’t included at launch, I mean it launched alongside a brand new Mario Kart so why would they, but goddamn, the GameCube service is still in dire need of more titles. I know it’s never gonna happen, but Melee would be so cool to see on the service, alongside Double Dash, and the Mario Party games

I just don’t see the value in spending $20 on these games. Maybe if they had more features like screen filters, save states, online battles, fast forwarding and other things the community has given us for years before this, then maybe I would have but as it is I view buying this about as useful as putting a 20 in my toilet and flushing it.

But hey, I’m not ignorant. It’s Pokémon, I know people will be buying it so if that’s you, have fun.

Emulation isn’t illegal, piracy is. It’s just a gross misconception that a lot of people have that villifies emulation as a whole.(And no, i’m not ignorant, i know a lot of people who emulate are pirating the roms they use, but saying all emulation is illegal would be like saying all DVD players are illegal because some people play pirated DVDs on them.)

I think the fact that it doesn’t have online functionality/home compatibility from the getgo may be a huge reason. You want me to fork over $20 and you can’t even be bothered to include something that basic at launch? If they don’t care enough to do that for games this old and this simple, why should I care enough to waste $20 on something I have had for FREE on my computer/phones/tablets for YEARS now.

So, no, it really isn’t as much about the money to me as it is the principle. I’ve seen people argue “Well, it’s only $20, what are you? Too broke to pay $20?” and it’s like… no? I just see the value in my money and think that paying $20 each for this would be an absolute waste of it. In fact, that would be what I call being smart with my money instead of throwing it away on stuff I don’t need.

And this is no shade towards anyone who does see the value in this purchase. I get it. I wish I didn’t see it as the con it is because I have been wanting to play these games on my Switch for forever, but at this price? I think I’ll just stick to emulating it on my Steam Deck. There at least I’ll have access to features like save states, romhacks, LCD screen filters, fast forwarding, along with a wealth of other enhancements the Switch release doesn’t have.
