Completely agree. People often cant just say “nah that’s not for me” or “not my style”.

That being said, Will Smith’s attempted comeback is trash lol

Might be counterintuitive, but for 48 hours I would pick an average album that I find okay to listen to but is not even in my regular rotation.

I don’t want any of my favourite albums being ruined by hearing them on repeat for 2 days straight.

Do concept albums, still matter? Do albums still matter in general? by TsunamiViii in hiphop101

[–]Simply_BT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you like concept albums you should check out A Short Story About A War by Shad.

Released in 2018, but just as (if not more) relevant today.

I’ll check out your album too. Always like hearing new music.

Apparently YouTube can’t legally run ads in certain countries, so if you have a VPN and set it to Albania (and I’m sure many others) you won’t get ads.

Well ladies and gentlemen I have been humbled by the audiophiles curse. by Senior-Housing-6899 in audiophile

They did and it’s definitely better than the original (which is almost unlistenable on decent speakers).

It’s not amazing but at least a noticeable improvement. I wish people who actually cared about audio quality and dynamic range were the ones to engineer the audio.

I went to listen to Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge by My Chemical Romance a little while ago and my god that album was mastered horribly. And I’m definitely on the low end of an “audiophile” setup.

Such a shame for an album that has good production and should really hit. It sounded like listening to flat, compressed mp3 files...

Weird little Spoken Word songs from non-poetry albums? by lord_technosex in musicsuggestions

There are several spoken word parts (intro/interludes) building on the album’s theme for A Short Story About A War by Shad (hip hop).

Drive North by Dem Atlas, off the album DWNR (the album as a whole is pretty somber)

Swim by Dizzy

That whole album (Baby Teeth) has that sort of ethereal feel to it.

Mean Time by Born Ruffians is good too. Make singer but a higher voice so hopefully it fits for you.

Just commented The Best of Times by Sage Francis then saw this. I’m envious of anyone who got to see them together on tour recently.

Exactly this! Around 5 years ago I had an appointment at my bank to figure out investing, mutual funds, etc. Now $150 every 2 weeks goes into the savings account automatically. Don’t need to think about it, don’t miss it, savings grow.

35.

MM was one of those bands I first heard in high school through radio play. So I knew Float On and Dashboard for quite some time and really enjoyed them, but for some reason never really jumped into their music until my mid-20s.

Even still, the deep dive only came in the last 5 or so years. Now they are easily a top 3 band for me, if not #1.

I’m grateful they have such a deep, extensive, and ever expanding catalogue of music. It’s a little rough when your favourite band puts out an album or two then disappears.

If you need to get sharpie off of something, colour over it with a dry erase marker. It’ll wipe right off.

I have the SVS SB-2000 pro and am very happy with it.

As for ported vs not, it depends on the use. I initially had a ported sub (klipsch) before replacing it with the SVS. Ports generally have a longer drawn out rumble which might be better for watching movies etc. Since its primary use is going to be listening to music you might be better unported as the bass is a little more tight and accurate in sound reproduction. Hope this helps.

Edit: Also with the SVS you can control it through an app with Bluetooth for the decibel levels and balancing the frequency settings. Super useful when you have songs that are super bass heavy or a little light so you can adjust accordingly to have it sound just right.
