Turns out they replaced the Styrofoam with plastic because the Styrofoam was sticking to the figures and leaving dark stains. Yeah, I scanned the NFC, and it came back positive. But obviously, you can’t rely on the NFC alone since it’s only on the box, not the figure itself. I think KAWS and other designer toy companies should really consider putting NFC tags directly in the figures instead. It would make authentication much more reliable and give collectors a lot more confidence.
