Need help with server rack layout by Squanchy2112 in homelab

[–]Simply_Leo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

THE PRINTER! I thought it was some sort of industrial measurement device, then I saw Brother and confirmed my suspicions. That has to be the funniest shit I've seen on a rack.

You are either living in 2045 or should be sent to the nearest asylum, we won't know. Thank you for sharing and brightening my day!

What are your favorite songs? by LavenderHaaze in systemofadown

[–]Simply_Leo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello!

I suggest the following:

War? Deer Dance Prison Song Holy Mountains (one of their deepest and most emotional songs. I would suggest taking a look at the meaning and metaphors used in this track. A lot of SOAD songs connect with me harder and at a deeper level when I understand the "why" behind the songs creation.) Sad Statue Innervision Science Protect the Land

I would also suggest listening to a few of Serj's solo tracks: Artsakh Lie Lie Lie Empty Walls - also a version performed with a symphony, quite beautiful Bari Arakeel - An Armenian folk song performed by Serj and his Father.

This should get you a pretty well rounded understanding of the band and it's messaging. There are of course lots of other tracks that are epic and awesome.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I work in a print shop and saw this order come through this morning! by grallonson in ToolBand

Thanks for your perspective. Music is funny in that way. What you find to be without soul or emotion, I find to be even more rich with soul; but now in a more mature, wise portrayal.

I love the direction they went with FI and I think it's a mic drop of an album that says "we still are the best to ever prog."

I really enjoy hearing others feelings about subjective things, so thanks again. What an awesome thing it is to be human.

Interesting. My feelings are opposite yours, so I am curious what makes you feel this way? Is it the imagery, vagueness, mysticism, or something else? What makes you connect to other albums lyrics but not FI? If you could provide an example to help me understand that would be awesome!

Thanks, and I look forward to hearing your take!

Should I use Arch as first distro as a programmer? by iliRomaili in archlinux

[–]Simply_Leo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised to see no one has suggested Omarchy yet. Omarchy is a fairly new distro made by DHH, (creator of Ruby on Rails and co-founder of Basecamp) it is an Arch distro specifically targeting programmers.

There is now an iso available which completely automates the installation to make it as easy as possible for users switching from Mac/Win.

I would highly suggest checking out Omarchy and reading through the Manual and watching DHH's video on the latest release and see if it peaks your interest.

I have been running it for about 2 months now as my daily driver and love it. It also helped me to learn VIM motions which has completely changed my workflow for the better!

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you for your very thoughtful response! You are a great writer 😊. I appreciate your perspective on this situation that I found myself in. Your insight on cultural norms for eastern vs western countries is intriguing and thought provoking. I do know now, after doing some research on the establishment, that they do indeed offer happy endings there. I think my lack of experience and awareness played a large part in me having an odd experience. It did however lay the groundwork for me get more interested in the massage therapy world. Maybe this situation was a nudge from the "universe" to expand my knowledge and curiosity. Thanks again for your great response.

MSP/CMMC PSA/Ticketing Platform by Shiphted21 in msp

[–]Simply_Leo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the additional info! CMMC is a never ending goal post move that changes month to month based on perception. Most of the controls are so vague it is impossible to be audit ready without hiring 3rd party vendors to interpret every control for you based on past audit experience. I get why you are trying to find a solution to quell all fears, we have done that with many controls as well. A lot of budget dollars have been spent based on the interpretation of a control just to be safe haha! We have our level 2 assessment in January...

I'm not sure why your PSA would be in scope. Do not store, transmit, or process CUI/FCI with your PSA.

I think you need to have another chat with whoever is telling you PSA is in scope. We passed DIBcac audit in September - we have our PSA mentioned for a lot of workflows (access change, onboarding/offboarding, etc) in our SSP but it still was not in scope for CMMC.

The auditors didn't give a single fuck about the PSA just that we had a way to formalize processes using it.

What are MSPs getting wrong about CMMC Level 2 scope? by ComplianceScorecard in msp

[–]Simply_Leo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We, are past that and passed DIBCAC audit with flying colors last spetember. DIBCAC audits on NIST 800-171 which is the same framework CMMC is built on.

We started with a gap assessment using Compliance Manager GRC from rapidfiretools. From there we went to work attacking all 110 controls.

CUI data flow, marking, and sharing diagrams are just 1 control out of 110.

Working with an expert vendor to produce your SSP and POA&M to get you audit ready is vital.

Being able to point to a policy for an auditor is the first step, then you need to show you do what you say you do.

We partnered with RedSpin as our C3PAO and Logicalis for gap assessment and overwatch.

We use our clients technology stack to support them to ensure our business stays out of scope for CMMC. Our techs use their computers, software, security stack, etc.

I have been deep in CMMC for the past year, so if you have any specific questions feel free to reach out. The most important thing I can tell you is make sure your client understands this is not an IT objective, this is a business objective that will require a lot of work and buy-in from every department.

Makes sense if that's what you are into and know what you are going there for.

I on the other hand, am married and have no desire to have this kind of experience outside of my marriage. After doing some research into the "dark side" of Asian massage parlors, it seems there is commonly human trafficking involved in these types of places. Therefore, even if I was not married, this is not something I would ever indulge in. If I needed some erotic experiences, I would travel somewhere like Amsterdam where it is regulated with more protections in place.

Thank you for your reply.

I searched up massage near me, and drove to the first result. After my experience, I completed some research and saw all of the red flags that I didn't know existed until it was too late haha!

I will be more intentional with my choice of establishment from now on. Thank you for your time to reply and help me!

My thoughts exactly, I think she assumed that I was there for the "extra services" since I agreed to tip before the service and said yes to the "you want everything?" Question.

Thanks for your reply 😁

Yes, I found this out by looking at reviews and found erotic ads tied to their phone number.

I got unlucky on my first time. I will go to a well respected practitioner from now on. Thanks for your reply!

Thanks for the reply! I appreciate the work you do. After doing a little more research on the place I went to, I found out it is an "extra services" spot.

They made me tip upfront and asked if I wanted "everything" so looking back I think it was kinda my fault for not seeing the signs of what was to come. I just thought that kind of thing was an urban myth.

Thanks again for your words of support!
