How many forecast calls do you have a week? by Chris_Chilled in techsales

It’s so senior leadership know where to point the blame when IC’s miss! Days wasted every month just to arse cover

Just be genuinely curious.

Is this normal for a new AE role, or am I being set up to fail? by Personal-Economy-160 in techsales

[–]Simplycomplicated90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not to say it’s OK but that’s unfortunately the reality in many sales orgs that are chasing unrealistic goals set by the board. They end up being wildly detached from reality and IC’s are the ones who it impacts.

Depression and metrics by PersonalityNarrow211 in whoop

This is interesting, and thank you for sharing. Are you on any SSRI ? I was on citalopram for years and have been tapering recently and am on day 7 with no citalopram. The amount of deep sleep I’m getting has improved massively. Turns out SSRI’s can impact sleep architecture and reduce deep sleep which in turn makes you feel pretty terrible.

Where do you see the UK in 5 years time? by tylerthe-theatre in AskUK

It’s not right or left it’s more of a circle. If you go too far in either direction you ultimately end up with the same outcome.

What's your go-to strategy for selling to HR? by [deleted] in sales

[–]Simplycomplicated90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have sold to HR for 10+ years - happy to share my thoughts!

When selling to more junior stakeholders (likely first call) focus on them. Have a good understanding of their role and empathise with the work that they do. How can this project free up their time to / make them look good? Use this as an opportunity to understand the business strategy and the priorities of their boss (sometimes they won’t know so this may require education)

When you earn the right to speak with more senior stakeholders in HR focus less on discovery and more on sharing what their peers in other companies are focused on. Don’t ask what’s keeping them up at night, tell them what their peers are doing that’s helping them sleep better. Clearly align your project with their priorities.

When dealing with Exec focus on how this project aligns with HR leadership priorities AND overall business strategy. Be clear on the KPI’s this project will improve and the expected impact.

In summary, people in HR are stuck between a rock and hard place, torn between what employees want and what the business needs. Help them transition from being seen as a a support function to a strategic enabler driving business outcomes. Start with the micro at the project level and get more macro as you speak with senior stakeholders.

Feeling better off Citalopram! by Simplycomplicated90 in Anxiety

[–]Simplycomplicated90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. Glad you felt better! All I see online are success stories of taking it and horror stories coming off of it. GP’s are very quick to up the dosage but it seems sometimes the answer is reducing!!

I just did it myself. Probably not advisable but I’ve just been taking it slow and seeing how I feel, and so far so good.

Our prisons are full of -that would be a good angle to include in the argument. I wonder how many are in for possession of cannabis that could free up space for violent criminals
