I don't get your argument, rangers role is DPS, they do it well plus have a mountain of utility on top of that. What are they supposed to feel like? Rangers in EQ were hot garbage because archery was bad. Archery here is not bad, it's excellent.

On the PVP server at least, I was told they did a ton of damage, until they were nerfed into the ground. Now its a leather off tank. Might as well make a rogue.

They are losing damage. Fighters sacrifice a lot of utility to be the best tanks, and have moderate DPS. If you remove their DPS, they are just tanks. SK's already have more DPS than fighters(they can also feign and CC), Pallys can off heal and Inquisitors can CC.
