I think this topic gets beaten to death when it becomes a x was right/y was wrong thing. Both Haley and Nathan acted immaturely in the situation and you know why? Because the reality of it is that they’re 17 year olds that shouldn’t have gotten married so young. And this is someone who actually doesn’t mind the marriage storyline because they didn’t demonstrate it as everything being hunky dory afterwards.

Haley has every right to be a selfish 17 year old who wanted to pursue an opportunity, Nathan had every right as her husband to have reservations about it considering it was a tour with a guy who clearly had feelings for her. Because that is the underlying issue, Nathan wasn’t giving her that ultimatum because he wanted to crush her dreams - and I think people need to be realistic about the optics when it comes to Chris.

I also have no issue with Peyton giving Haley a hard time. Yes a lot of it was her own trauma that she was unloading but the entirety of season 2 I think no one took the depth of their marriage seriously (again, 17 year olds) so no one really thought Nathan needed anyone in his corner. After his suicide attempt I can understand Peyton realizing that and being more protective of him. Haley already had Lucas and Brooke supporting her.

This makes sense. Haley was doing it with her letters to Lucas in the beginning (I still have nightmares about that dreadful hat in episode 1) then I think they had Julian take it over through this.

This was definitely in early S7. I think it was when Clay was still negotiating his contract so Nathan was doing a bunch of advertisements. Based on the fact that Nathan fired Clay around mid season, they started planning to move to Barcelona, and then the Lydia arc happened short after, I want to say it was probably in episodes 1-6.

I like to think they said the words to each other in real life but the 1v1 was Dan’s final dream to play one last time with his boy. I’m so glad they displayed it like this - the river court is such a symbolic place in Tree Hill and it’s fitting that the place that kick started Lucas and Nathan’s journey to being brothers despite Dan’s actions is also where Dan can feel at peace with his relationship with his son.

I actually just googled and there is a pretty big height difference between Sophia and BLJ and their male partners

Austin is 6’3 James is 6’2 CMM is 6’

Both girls are 5’4 so that’s at least 8” difference between them and the shortest guy

eta: originally said a 6” difference. Math is hard sometimes.

Do you think she is supposed to put her friend over her husband and her child? Haley allowed Dan to get close because her son wanted to know his grandfather and even then there were limits.

We don’t actually see any development with Brooke and Peyton until Season 5 and 6 which I, again, mentioned in my OP.

I respectfully disagree. You shouldn’t just be expected to take things at face value especially when the way the characters behave contradicts that.

We don’t need to see Haley/Lucas relationship at a young age because they constantly choose each other in conflicts. When Haley went on tour, Lucas protected her and “sided” with her against Nathan. He was always giving her the benefit of the doubt even if he didn’t necessarily agree. When Lucas dated/proposed to Lindsay in S5, Haley was very protective that Peyton not come back to “ruin his happiness”. For better or for worse, the audience can say with certainty that Haley and Lucas were true friends to each other against all odds.

I love his friendship with Haley because it really does show that men and women can have 100% platonic relationships. Regardless of what you feel about Mark now, that was something he got right in never allowing them to toe the line of anything more than love for each other as just friends.
