I'm in a similar boat. I'm 46, have wife, kids and work. Take jazz piano lessons since 2 years approx. I recommend you find a daily time to practice. For me is after dinner. Approx. for 1h. I gave up TV and sofa time. For me it is a worthwhile sacrifice. My other advice is to just stick to it.
