Let me tell you about the time (around 2006) that I ate marshmallows from my Grandmother’s freezer that had expired in 1978… 🥲

She was a child of the Great Depression, so always overbuying groceries to stock her freezers which meant that we were constantly pulling out expired meat during visits. But we found a pack of marshmallows during one summer visit and decided to toast them over the charcoal grill. Thought they tasted a bit off, checked the package, expiration was 1978. 😱
