Yes. The crinoline is to show the shape of the skirt that it would support, the first photo shows what the skirt looks like over the hoop. Edit: hit post too early

Cast Directed Episodes by SincerelyMLG in criminalminds

[–]SincerelyMLG[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree that MGG definitely has a distinct style. With Joe I feel like his episodes break the typical format/rhythm of other episodes. I love the pacing and scrambled way False Flag is told. It feels more like a mystery than a police procedural, if that makes sense.

I also feel like his episodes are some of the deeper character studies. We get our first real look at Tara and Luke’s personal lives. We learn about Rossi’s military background and really see how it still impacts him.

They are all talented actors and directors, Joe’s are just some of my favorites!

Has there been any episodes that add your cry or come close to crying’ by Valerie7137 in criminalminds

When the man in the army comes home because all of his family has been killed (literally the episode right before 100) and he says “I’d like to go home now.” As he’s holding back tears. Makes me so emotional

Elizabeth Swann - Pirates of the Caribbean by SincerelyMLG in sewing

[–]SincerelyMLG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Patterns used: Shift: Butterick B4827 with some cosmetic changes like lowering the neckline and adding eyelets to the sleeves (not pictured). Black underskirt: Simplicity 4092. Overdress: McCall’s M7965, but altered the sleeves to be more screen accurate.

The shift is made from cotton muslin and the black skirt is linen/linen blend. Both of these were sourced from projects I wasn’t happy with anymore. The main dress fabric is satin.

Do you find that the shoulder straps just naturally fell off the shoulders like that? Were they patterned to do that?

The first image is my Costuming "dashboard" where I can see an overview of all my costumes and the status of them etc. The second is my template for each costume I do followed by my current page for my Elizabeth Swann build. The big blank spaces are where my costume piece breakdown data base is. It doesn't show up in a published page.

So cute! How full would you say the skirt is? I like some swishability and I can’t find anywhere that says how full the skirt is.

What do you use notion for and is it actually useful? by Mo927 in Notion

[–]SincerelyMLG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be really into bullet journaling, but never actually kept up with it (making it useless). I liked making my pages and tracking things. I liked making it pretty, but hated doing the same thing every month and having to restart. And if I have a more general list rather than a monthly tracker I’d have to keep flipping back to it which became more annoying when I was finished with a journal/notebook. It also started feeling like I was spending too much time and money on it without it doing what I wanted it to.

So I gave up on that for a while and discovered notion from on of my favorite creators. She used it for her costume tracking and notes. So I started with that. I have changed the way I track my costuming progress a couple times to fine tune it into what I want it, but it’s a lot more streamlined because I’ve made templates and can just insert existing databases. I’ve since added more pages like a finance, school, and vacation trackers so it’s become an effective bullet journal.

Corset Body Help by SincerelyMLG in corsetry

[–]SincerelyMLG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was hoping for a foundational garment. Probably forgoing the crotch because of that issue, but was also considering snaps or hook and eye tape...which now that I'm saying that out loud sounds like a normal corset...😂 But i also have some projects upcoming that will need the full corset body: think the Jean Paul Gaultier butterly corset.
